I do not think they can look at these case by case if they are truely serious about head shots. Fans, media, players, coaches, even the NHL head offices constantly drone on about intent but videos cannot prove intent, in a vaccumn, yes this his is suspendable, in regards to the results of other hits similar (see: Campoli, etc) this is not. Be consistant and there will be no arguments.

The finer points of each incident is what prevents from the NHL purely going ANY hit to the head is 3 games, 5 games, etc. I think if you suspend this hit, then you should take out open ice hits, there's always going to be variables: height difference, positioning. The reward at the current time is NOT worth the risk. If they truely want to get rid of head shots institute a double minor for ANY hit to the head. As an aside where is the outcry after Neal tommahawk chopped Subban in the head, that was a dirty play as well.

i was just going to post that. I am one of those that want a coaching change because I do not like JMs style personally, and this is purely from a fan perspective, but the JM hockey teams are not exciting to watch. As Brobin says, it's not much of a leap for JMs players to see how he treats mistakes (with severe benchings), for them to play passive.

About the hit last night...what bugs me about Letang is that he ducked his head, that right there should mitigate any suspension, Pax as a player controls his body, he does not control his opponents, it's similar to a player going to check someone and they just spin around at the last second to show their back, who's at fault there? I really think Crosby should have been suspended for elbowing Foligno, give him 2 games for hypocrasy.

Hmm...I'll bite...where has this be shown to be faulty? I don't have proof to the contrary but I have never seen proof that it is NOT JMs fault.To be honest, they play a defensive shell ANYWAY so there's not much of a leap to say they go into a even more defensive shell.

I honestly think the 2nd line C spots answer is Eller. If Eller was given as many chances as some on the team it would be shown, I just do not know why Eller is being held back.

I disagree with you Willey. Subban has been the habs best D man on both ends. The only reason Gorges is having success is the opposing teams are over committing to Subban freeing up his partner. I personally do not want to see Gill as more than a third pairing anymore, I feel like he is hurting the team (as much as you can analyze last nights game), on offense. Gill is great on the PK, but he just seems to be a Debbie Downer on offense killing any chance of scoring chances.

It was less missed more ignored.

With the lack of chances the habs have I am fine with PKs dangerous plays.
