I for one wish we had two full round of hockey in us. The only thing I didn't like about these playoffs was that we couldn't score. I know you can't always make excuses, but seriously if the bounces went our way in the games we lost (except last night and 6-2 loss) I think we would have taken the series in 6 instead. Anyone else see that montage of all the posts we hit in the series? If half of those went in were talking 5-6 more goals. I think it's obvious that somethin needs to be done for the powerplay. Therrien will be staying, so a new PP coach is probably in order. Then trade PAP for mcdavid and Emelin for ekblad and were good to go. Easy fix right

Last night I dreamt patches scores 2 in another 2-1 OT win. I hope that's a good sign!

I've been down on Therrien many times but the lightning series has made me give him another chance. I'm no longer calling for him to be fired if the team plays this awesomely good forecheck/ high shooting game. (Notice how many goals were getting from simple shots? Dsp petry Gilbert Pacioretty Gallagher Desharnais all come to mind as simple shot goals) The one thing we need to be a bonafide powerhouse is a first line Center and/or a right winger. Very hard to come by though and I'm not sure what I'd want to trade in a realistic deal. I've LOVED Eller's playoffs game, Patches is going no where, Gallagher is my hero, Chucky has too much potential, Desharnais is worth more than what his return would get.. I don't want to trade plek either, I think he's been underrated the last while. The main two I'd like to see gone are Emelin and PAP. Emelin is ok if he's on the bottom pair, but not at 4 mill. If we were paying him 2.5 I'd be happy. PAP I could say the same about. He's worth about 2.5. So if bergevin could clear out 8 mill there, there's an awful lot of room. Sign petry of possible. I'd pay him about 6 max per year, but not for 8 years. 6 for 4 years would reduce risk. A 5x7 could work too. I think were gonna have to pay up. Last, god love markov, but could trading him now while he still has value be a better move? Markov + a good prospect (ghetto, Carr etc) and minnesota's second for a stud 25 or so. Not sure if that's unrealistic

I wouldn't call Emelin Desharnais Eller or subban bargains. Even Briere at 4 wasn't worth it despite that he apparently could have had a lot more from other teams. Besides, how is it a bad thing if he signs bargain deals? If he signed vanek at 7 per year you might be complaining too. I don't think Bergevin it the soul guy too blame. Plus he's been here three years, and multiple of his drafts have already made the NHL. You can't expect him to draft the CORE in three years. But Give it 5 more years and I bet we see his picks turning into core players.

Hire a new powerplay coach. Is it sliiiiightly possible that these last few games are the result of a small sample size? I say if we had scored on any of the 6-10 posts we've hit, the guys would be playing differently and having more success. This series really has been heart breaking. We deserve better than to be down 0-3, but it's life. Bergevin's only true two blunders (IMO) are not signing pk to about 10 years at 5.75 when he could have, and two having a crush on MT about as big as MT has on DD. To fill in why he's a good gm? Pacioretty at 4.5 for 6 years. Cole and a third for Ryder, shrewdest cap moves, Diaz for Weise (yes) Gallagher at 3.75 for 6, Vanek for a second and justin beiber (not MB's fault vanek busted in the playoffs), petry for a second and another pick, when other teams were paying firsts for those defenseman, I could think of more if I wanted too.

Just finished up my bachelor degree and headed home to watch game 2 with my Dad. Couldn't ask for much better than a 3-2 OT win! Life is good. Loved DSP, just for his scoring chances. I wish he could have buried a few but at least he's noticeable. Chucky rewarded for a nights worth of close calls too! Subby and Patches scoring tops it off.

Was not expecting such a high scoring game. wooowwweeee! Minus Patches and 1/2 Subban? Keep it going boys, hope they make my fear of this series look stupid.

I know exactly what you mean. Of course I support the Habs 100% but if I'm making an honest prediction I just have feeling that this is going to be a very tough series. It isn't about saying "I told you so".

I hate to say it but I'm feeling like you. Hope I'm wrong but I have this gut feeling of a habs loss, one where it doesn't even seem that close. I'd switch rangers in 6 and I'm going with jets in 7.

I know what you mean. My point is that I'm glad the game didn't end up 6-0 or something like that. It was close enough to pull the goalie. I think the first 70 or so games are more a reflection of Price than anything else. Because of Price we can still hope for a good run, but if not for Price I don't think so. According to my professional math ... 1703 Shots against Price multiplied by league average SV% 9.14 = 1557 Saves 1703- 1557 = 146 goals against Price has 110 goals against 146 -110 = 36 MORE goals against So with a league average save percentage we would have surrendered almost 36 more goals. We've won 13 games started by Price by just one goal (including SO). Without Price we'd likely have a good 7-8 wins less.
