  1. Merci pour la support et le tolerance les boys. Je fais mes effort, mes en fin, je parle mieux que je pourais escrives en francais!
  2. Very good point, but I believe that Montreal will need to depend on the draft table, and development over UFAs, unless they can convince Quebeckers to come home. The weather, taxes, and hostile media all make Montreal an unatractive destination. There may be some players who dream of wearing the CH, but the Houle/Heart years has diminished that somewhat. Also, the fact that these players all have big time business men and lawyers giving them advice, makes their choice less based on nostalgia, and more on sound business decisions. I think that the draft and trading will be our main suite! And it is a good thing we have been doing so well at it recently.
  3. LOL, well I agree with you that sensorship is dangerous. And that the law should not impede our freedom of expression -- but I believe this because I also believe that we as individuals have the responsibility to moderate ourselves. Now, although I don't think that the words are racists, I do thing they indicate a stereoptype, and are thus, insensitive. Is Boisclaire a racist ... I have no idea. But should a politician who wants to represent Quebec go around speaking stereotypes about other cultures? No. BTW, I like the reference to turban heads, or rag heads. This is very common in the US, and it is a very insensitive statement. I believe that their is more hate behind some of these statements, but I class "Yeux Brides" in the same class of cultural insensitivity, and ignorance.
  4. The point isn't that some have almond shaped eyes, or slit eyes, or round eyes. It is a stereotype, like saying white men can't jump, or asians are good at Science ... it generalizes too much. He shouldn't say it ... and neither should anyone else who wants there words to be taken seriously.
  5. Just because some journalist defends him doesn't mean he is right. And just because it is acceptable in Quebec to speak that way, doesn't mean it is right. Ever here of an Uncle Tom? It is what black folk called other black folk who kissed the white man's ass in the south when discrimination against blacks was rampant. And if you pointed to me and said, look there, that is proof that the way whites were treating blacks in the south was alright ... we'll I'd say that one smillin' fool don't make the case. Now, I know plenty of Asisan people who object to being called Slanty eyed. You know there are actual asians who have almond shaped eyes. Some have really wide open eyes. There is a whole diversity out there ... and defending it because some ignorant fools like to pull on the side of their eye lids and go ching-ching-ching ... means that that person is an ignorant fool. Now if you are defending ignorant fools, well that is your own cross to bear. And I'd suggest that you don't get offended in the future if you get called frog, pepper, jean guy patate, poutine ... because lots of people say that sort of thing, there are lots of people called Jean-guy in Quebec, many francophones eat poutine .... and I'm sure a few of you eat peppers. Not to mention, Pepsi, maywest! Anyway, had enough of this .... we disagree. Just be carefull if you ever make it to Asia ... you call the locals slanty eyed and you will not impress anyone.
  6. Great post alexstream! A few notes of interests: I would have traded Theo too, but their would have been a severe backlash if we traded the second coming of Quebec's very own christ if we had traded him before is disintegration. Also, history would have proved us wrong seeing as he got vertigo and retired within 1 year of his trade. We would have kept Garon I suppose, and never gotten Huet. Also, I think Gillette stopped the bleeding. Molson was doing a serious fire sale at that point (just one more reason I'll never drink Molson again). Maxwell is looking good, as is white, but they are both a couple of seasons away. Don't know if we need a super star center. It wouldn't hurt, but we won in '93 with a super star goalie. Until we finish last in the season, I think we will have to keep on looking for hidden gems. We will never get the Crosbys or the Taveres of the league, because the bottom feeders always suck them up. This has always been something I hate about the NHL, as it unfairely taxes teams that compete every year. They should have a full draft lottery system. Just because Pittsburg sucked for so long, they have now been rewarded with an all-star team. Same as Ottawa and Tampa Bay before them. A lottery would even the playing field, and allow a team like the habs to get the 1st overall pick every 30 years, instead of never. But, I still think that we will have a serious contender even without a super star center. Also, I don't think that Briere is all that. I think that we could very well already have a Briere in our system ... whether it is Maxwell, Grabovsky, White, or someone else. But Taveres would be uber sweet.
  7. Good points. Tanking would' help us much ... but I wouldn't be sad if we have to miss the playoffs, that we REALLY miss the playoffs. But, that being said, I wouldn't count the team out yet!
  8. It's called focus. Getting back on the horse when you get bucked. Mistakes happen, and when you are focused you know that it was just an accident, and not a reflection of your skill. You will take steps to avoid it by thinking strategically, and not running away. Kudos on her. I hope she does well at the worlds. (nasty looking scar though ... hate seeing that sort of accident happen)
  9. I'd say that D'agostini is pretty underrated. Also White from the Calgary Hitmen. But what does underated mean? The guys who don't have a chance, or the ones who do have a solid chance, yet no one knowd about them? Or the one that people in the know know about, yet credit is seldom given to him? If it is the last, I'd say Chipchura. I think he will be a great leaser for the habs in years to come, yet most people think it was a mistake to draft him so high.
  10. This season there has been a lot of Jawing about how we have been rebuilding for ever, and how BG should blow up the team. I can't understand this. Since the last 2 years BG has been working on this team, trying to make it better. Before him, Andre Savard did a bang up job drafting some very good talent. Since the fiasco post Serge Savard years, this team fell on hard times. But since Andre Savard came on board, the boat has been slowly regaining its direction. Now, lets look at the re-building process at hand: In the last 3 years, we have see rookies from the AHL take a serious role with the club: Ryder, Higgins, Placenek, and Komisarek are now considered veterns of the club. Latendress and Lapierre have been on the club most of the season this year. And Kostitsyn and Halak have recently made their mark. Next season could very well see Grabovski and Price come to the club ... and maybe O'Byrne, Duncan, Lil' ####, Chipchura, and D'agostini. THIS IS REBUILDING! From the foundation up! We may not be tops this year, but if we keep moving in this direction we will be a team to contend with for years. Bravo BG, George Gillette, and the rest of the crew!
  11. Search his name on this board and you will find a thread discussing him over the entire season. In brief, he didn't make the team out of training camp because there were too many bodies, and then he got a call up and played a little lazy, so he was sent down to get his energy level up. He has now been up for about 10 games. He was already up last season too ... but it was too early. Kostitsyn has been in our system for about 3 years now!
  12. Ha, nice video on Tucker ... can't believe there weren't any Boullion Clips with the long tradition that those two have had.
  14. Yes, and in parts of asia whites are called "big noses", because they think we have big noses. However, it is insulting, and just because there are people out there who are insulting doesn't mean that it is a justification to be insulting ourselves. Like calling an anglo a block ... square head .. it is insulting. I mean, in Darfur they kill people ... it is just a thing that we humans do ... rape, pillage ... its not meant to be offensive. But it is! And he ought to appologize ... or else you cannot be mad if french people are called frogs ... because your ancestors did eat frogs ... and it is just meant as a joke.
  15. Wonder how long that will last. The two guys behind him are only two back, and I think they have some more games to play ... but I could be wrong.
  16. His name is already Big ####, or any synonym, like Bazookas, Hooters, Mellons ... yah know Maybe Bazookas is the best because he's got a howitzer of a shot. His little bro is Lil' ####, haven't found a good synonym for him yet though ...
  17. If anyone finds a link to the Boullion Vs Tucker fight, I'd like to see it ... classics, always.
  18. 3 points plus a 10 minute game misconduct for his last regualr season game as a junior.
  19. Anyone else notice that Grabovsky has been pretty much non-existant on the score sheet since #### left? Is it because of the injury, or was #### making him look good?
