  1. I hear ya in the ring that is, but that boy is a street fighter. I'm sure if you put Laraque in the ring he'd get worked. On the same token put any UFC champ on skates and they'd probably get worked. Not really the point though......Laps needs to throw punches if he wants to be taken seriously. Kind of like our poor little friend KOSTO. He looked bad last night against Sauer, he meant well, but still looked like a punch bag. Chips can throw punches was really my point at the end of the day.
  2. See Koivu talking to sergei. That myf riends is your Captain....
  3. Dandy limped off into the dressing room. That may make some of you happy
  4. You had to go and say it , didn't you. No penalty on the play, so I doubt it.
  5. It is Carey Price's cousin so that might not be good for us really. Unless he deserved it of course.
  6. Sergei is going to take action in his own hands
  7. 911 Hamilton? Please send Patch to Montreal! Pronto! What a man!!!!!! He said No to the strecher
  8. Ya I heard that too. While Gui looked o.k he just doesn't seem mean enough, and Laps? well, he looks mean and mouthy but I couldn't help notice in his fight he just tucked himself in close and hung on. Kind of embarrassing actually. Now don't get me wrong, I like both players and sure do wish they could throw punch for punch, but I don't think boxing lessons or tutoring from Kimbo Slice himself is going to help these guys. I hope I'm wrong.
  9. He won't, he seems like a well matured young man ahead of his age. As far as speed, I think Laps is way faster then Chips, infact Laps may be the fastest player on the team if it was a straight race from point A to point B. Ever see him catch and pass certain opposing defensemen in a chase for a puck, it blows my mind as he gains speed. Also let's not forget that, with time, Laps could become deadly with the puck for a fourth liner. He has an offensive gift. He proved that last year when he first came up, scored a bunch of goals and then got sent down around christmas because of politics and rules forced him the odd man out. The city went crazy. Chips is now in the same boat, only he can control his destiny now. With all that said, I think Chips is better defensively and is way, way, tougher then Laps.Chips can scrap. Laps is a wanna be tough guy. He needs to learn how to beat someone's ass and not hang on for dear life, That will get old fast and he will become a laughing stock. Even Tucker and Avery get respect because they are pesky but throw toe to toe when need be. Seems like Laps is an eager student which is a delightful sight for my eyes. Watch here during Big Georges fight with Thorton. Right at about 41 seconds on the replay Laps skates in for a good view and seems to be picking up some pointers, so do gorges and Komi. Awwwwwwwwww, I love Laraque.
  10. Well chips said it himself. Waive Chips all good. Waive Laps he will be picked up. From Management standpoint what would you do? For the moment, at least? I thought so..... [
  11. I was really digging NHL Game centre, broad band is stepping it up, by next year it will probably be full screen HD available. I had no problems with feed on my Mac G5 Intel . Sooooooooo excited!!!!!! but then I found out any Montreal games on NHL Network or even VS would black me out here in the states. That's like over 20 games?????? So I canceled today and went straight for old faithful "centre HICE!!!!!" They've always done me right!!!! Heads up to anyone south of Canada and Quebec.
  12. Not to mention Carbo and Gainey have a way better angle on this whole thing. These are hard decisions for everyone. I really don't understand the whole "CHIPCHURA CASE" softies around here. Knowing they would be the first ones Shlting on his head if he was to stay and play poorly or loose one too many game deciding face-offs. In so many posts I see you people end your comments with "In Gainey we Trust" Well? What's the problem? The situation will resolve itself in due time and I'm sure Chips has a better grip on what he needs to do then any of you guys. Kudos to Laps for stepping up. It's that inner competition we have that will bring the best out of all our players. Feeling sorry for Chips on these boards like many of you do is what's getting old. The french/english thing will never go away well not until Texas and Quebec are their own countries, but I guess that's a whole different can of worms. Chips will figure it out....... In Gainey we trust? Maybe? :puke:
  13. It's always someone you don't expect .....I'm going with Steve Bégin unassisted and shorthanded. How's that? I would have said Lats but then I'd be just like Walmsley.
  14. My mistake. I thought he was in the same situation as Latendresse. If we sent him down would we not have to pass him through waivers? Anyways, my point really was that so many wanted Montreal to draft him instead of Price but he's been a bust so far.
  15. Man, reading through this thread is a riot. Everyones reactions when Price gets picked and also when Latendresse gets picked. Funny stuff. Anyways, I was actually looking for a thread to talk about Gilbert Brule. Since so many people at the time wanted Gainey to pick him it's funny now because Edmonton just waived him. SOOOoooooooooo, If you want him you can have him. Does anyone still want him? Brule waived
  16. Colin, It's always Saku's fault around here.
  17. Because Gui has enjoyed success with Koivu before, that's why I feel it would be a good thing to keep him there while Higgins would be fine on the "turd" line since it will generate offense as well. Who knows, we have great problems don't we? What a breath of fresh air to start the season with so many great line possibilities. By the way, we're going to lose that opening game. Buffalo almost always beats us in Buffalo, and Saturday? guess what? lose again because T. friggin O. always seems to beat us no matter what team they ice. Hmmmm, then Philli beats us because French goalies always beat us , but it is in Phili. Our first win may not come until the second or third week of October. Oh boy the press will be all over the boys for no reason at all. All of our demons come in the first week. Even Boston who remembers the 1st round and killing them all last season.........We are in for a weak 1st month but then the sun will shine the rest of the way !!!!!!!!!!! HOCKEY IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!
