  1. I have no idea, but I'm quite surprised. I was looking forward to Komi creaming lindros. Me too.
  2. I cannot believe domi got a goal and it actually came off his stick instead of his head!
  3. Even thought there are 80 games left the team cannot afford bad defensive lapses around Jose like the last game.
  4. I was surprised about the 5th rounder also. Draft picks are like gold now with salary cap issues. I am no fan of the Rangers. Wow my posts take forever to get uploaded! [Edited on 2005/10/8 by Howie_Morenz]
  5. Maybe we are just spoiled because there are so many rookies on the Habs with potential. Plus trading for guys like Zednik and Bulis and obtaining Bonk without mortgaging the future helps. At one time, we were after Owan Nolan and it would have cost us. Fortunately the Leafs outbid us. 1st rounder+Brad Boyes+ Alan McCalley really left Toronto with nothing. Now that they have nothing it will show by mid season when every one is worn out. I sure hope we do not trade away our first round choice next year because the team has to keep the pipeline going to add talent every year. The Leaf or Ranger model cannot work!
  6. I dropped my bottle of water on the floor while reading this. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHA...
  7. OK, here is something to talk about. Why would the leafs have a line of:Kilger - Wellwood - Domi A goal scoring centre with two dogs that should be chained up in the back yard instead of putting on skates. If this is a true line then there is a good chance Montreal will be able to limit toronto to very few goals. I cannot see why Toronto has so much faith in domi and Kilger.
  8. Thanks for the link 1986Habs.:/) First time have seen it and just bookmarked it.
  9. I will second this. All I want for christmas is to have the Habs perform a "Leaf Thumping"
  10. Absolutely cannot flame someone for putting this much depth in an article. Thank you for so much information alexstream. The main reason I found this board was through the articles on the main page like yours. You do have a high value on this defence and I hope you are 100% correct. I am not totally sold on some of the D, but they have looked very good so far. If I am wrong this will not be the first time I put my foot in my mouth.
  11.:clap: Montreal should post Bulis_the_Habbie's comments on their clipboard to show the players. How many times does a team lose at the beginning of the year and have it come back to bite them in the A$$. This is a 4point swing game and is important. Everyone thinking X-Habs will haunt us this game is just crazy talk. OK so we are all a little crazy, but that is what makes us fanatics for the Habs. Old tired X-Habs like Kilgor are no threat. The overrated Polish prince will not keep up with our youth. Higgins and Bulis will show them what a real hockey players are. Everybody put your game faces on as this is an important game and we will win.
  12. In defence of the board here, I saw a new thread by beckham which was way out of line. I liked some of his posts here but that thread was just uncalled for. There are so many good people on here that it is the ONLY board I will participate on. habs fans should unite and not divide. Back on topic I am glad to see Ivanans is on the team tonight. I hope he plays tough, not take any stupid penalties and can get an assist to help show Domi what a real hockey player is.
  13. Ah cr@p, when I typed this up last night I hit 23 instead of 24. Grrr... Bad habs fan I am. My typing skills should not be called skills. Cup # 25 will be soon, could be this year if Jose is back to form. Calgary and Tampa proved last finals you don't have to have a team with the most skilled players. Just guys that have some skills, a goalie to stand on his head and a couple of stars. If Montreal's defence puts it together this year then we have a shot at a finals appearance. Peter the Great will fall to injury in Philly, Brodeur is looking more human, Tampa does not have a real goalie so there is a chance for the Habs.
  14. Bulis_the_Habbie, I think someone has to get up very early in the morning to try and catch you off guard. Good observation. I am waiting for Saku to break out and score a couple tonight. I will never forget what he went through to get back to playing so well. Plus I think Mr. Bulis is going to have a fabulous game too. HABS 6 - LEAFS 2 My prediction. (Leafs score two because Montreal feels sorry for them)
  15. The Florida score does not surprise me. Plus I don't think Boston is as great a team as all the media makes them out to be. No goalie and if Joe Thorton is not playing well or is injured, they are dead!
  16. Thought I would share some interesting historical stats that prove how great the Canadien franchise is. Our time is near to challenge and to take back the trophy that rightfully belongs to Montreal. It is also a good reminder for those Leaf fans that do not accept reality, in that Montreal is the real home of hockey. STATS: Most Stanley Cup championships 23 Montreal Canadiens 13 Toronto Maple Leafs 9 Detroit Red Wings Most consecutive Stanley Cup championships 5 Montreal Canadiens (1956-60) 4 Montreal Canadiens (1976-79) 4 New York Islanders (1980-83) Most Finals series appearances 32 Montreal Canadiens 21 Toronto Maple Leafs 21 Detroit Red Wings Most consecutive Finals series appearances 10 Montreal Canadiens (1951-60) 5 Montreal Canadiens (1965-69) 5 New York Islanders (1980-84) Most years in playoffs 72 Montreal Canadiens 61 Toronto Maple Leafs 59 Boston Bruins Most consecutive playoff appearances 29 Boston Bruins (1968-96) 28 Chicago Blackhawks (1970-97) 24 Montreal Canadiens (1971-94) 22 St. Louis Blues (1980-2001) 21 Montreal Canadiens (1949-69) Go Habs Go :hlogo:
  17. Not sure about Norstom because of his limited talent, but he was captain of the Kings once was he not? Kasparaitis claim to fame is how dirty and hard he plays. Unfortunate for him he still takes way too many STUPID penalties so his value is really Zero. I like your other choices though. :/):/)
  18. Thanks jetsniper. This is the stuff that is hard to get in Leafland. I cant wait until Montreal plays Colorado. I bet it will be a very fast game and more than likely quite a few goals. Plus there are many X Monteal players on Colorado so it is always fun to see how they are doing.
  19. Good goaltenders are going to cost money. Danis is a prospect that may become great. He is under $1M dollars so I am ok with the Montreal Management spending Mr. Gillett's money on him. I think every young player we have deserves a fair shake at making the team and reaping as much $$$$ as they can. Is he overpayed? Maybe, but lets wait and see when he finally gets into a game before tearing him down. I am not confident with any of our goalies other than Jose just yet as they have to prove themselves. All I can say is when he gets the call to play is "Go Danis Go".
  20. I dont want to see Bulis on the top line. He deserves it but we have to have a mix of talent on all lines to compete. Bulis can make a good line better. Colorado and Detroit for years experimented with this on a part time basis and it worked for them. Montreal is winning right now so lets keep everything close to the current formula. Plus Ryder should be up on the top line in the third period so he can get another game winning goal against ToRoNto.
  21. Heals is starting to say nice things about the young talent in Montreal and how Toronto better start building a program. Of course he thinks the leafs are going all the way, but that is just to feed the Flock that can only dream of Lord Stanley's Mug. It was last won by blue and white in what 1967 hahhahaha
