  1. For anyone wondering, I'm not touching the cap elements and whatnot for this deal until tomorrow. I'm still not feeling well (only lasted a half day at work today) and could use some sleep before number crunching.
  2. The 2nd round pick is in 2013, no word on which year the MTL 5th is. Edit: It's a 2012 5th.
  3. Holland's a 7th rounder from 2010, 56 points in 39 games this year. 6'0, 176 lbs.
  4. The Ramo era is over. We hardly knew ye.
  5. There's salary relief if nothing else. One small consolation.
  6. Renaud Lavoie suggesting it's a 1-1 deal.
  7. Wouldn't be surprised to see Stajan as salary ballast here though one would think the Habs would get extra compensation for taking his deal on.
  8. Gauthier to speak to the media at 10, we'll know soon.
  9. Calgary, interesting that he goes back from whence he came.
  10. 740 users online now, nearly 7x our record set earlier this year. Who says the fans aren't into the team despite the struggles?
  11. Also, for those who track the number of people online, we apparently have 575 people online right now. Our previous record was 114. To any readers new to the boards and looking for info, welcome. Don't forget the chat room found at the bar atop the forum.
  12. Bob McKenzie has been told the same. Could be an interesting couple of hours. In the meantime, off to write the game recap.
  13. Wow, blink and the period was over. Entertaining hockey despite very few shots for either side in that stanza.
  14. Stat of the period: Cammalleri (4:22) is on pace for his lowest game TOI of the season. Seems to me last game he was only slightly higher than that through one.
  15. Speaking of Blunden, something I meant to check the other day but forgot. Tonight is his 12th game after his e-recall. As you may remember from a couple years back with Darche, once you hit 10 games the waiver exemption is no longer there. As a result, I suspect he'll be up with the team for the rest of the year, especially since Cunneyworth likes to use him a little more than Martin.
  16. That was a pretty good second half to the period, the Habs had some good chances. Plekanec is playing better and Blunden shockingly doesn't look out of place on that line. As for Cammalleri...well he's not trying any less out there at least.
  17. It's there, was posted last night. http://forums.habsworld.net/index.php?showtopic=23148
  18. I don't think either side would welcome a Cammalleri-Setoguchi deal. Setoguchi was a key piece in the Burns deal; though he's struggling this year, I doubt they're ready to give up on him yet. Minnesota's not a cap spending team, the $4 million difference in terms of actual salary (3 vs 7 next year) would offset the extra offensive contributions Cammalleri would bring (and that's before considering what type of pick they'd move). From the Habs side, a 2nd/3rd liner isn't great value for Cammalleri unless the deal was simply to shed money. Even so, there's probably a better cap dump move out there, quality of the draft pick notwithstanding of course.
  19. 20, I think that could be a bit hard to accomplish. I agree that for everyone's sake (not just management's but Markov's as well) that he needs to get into some games. I think 10 games is doable (I think he's out until the deadline), though the more the better if he can stay healthy.
  20. Emelin's sole value in those rankings would be hitting. Most leagues don't have hitting as a stat which means fantasy wise, he's effectively useless. That's why he's not on the list.
  21. You mean you're not promoting the HW/HWL boards within your own family? Boooooooo...
  22. I'm not sure if it's something that the Habs would consider but having read some comments on the matter, I thought it'd make for a good poll. As the results are really close between the three, it's safe to say there are a lot of varying opinions on the topic.
  23. Surprised it hadn't been noted yet but Price will be the lone Habs' representative at the upcoming All-Star Game in Ottawa. In a week of one thing of bad news after another, this deserves a . Jan. 25 edit: Diaz is now headed to Ottawa as well.
