  1. i'm so glad hes in the lineup. i think that he will give our offence another shot in the arm. GO HABS GO Man that trade that was made in 2001 was probably one of the best that i can recall. Jan Bulis, Richard Zednik, 1st round pick (Alex Perezhogin) for Trevor Linden and Danius Zubrus Awesome trade
  2. shortcat u are exactly right the toronto maple leafs are gonna be the baltimore orioles of hockey. start out good, then fade away throughout the season
  3. only a half hour till game time!!!! Im really pumped for this game!!!!
  4. i wouldnt sign him, his contract is way to big, for a guy that would have limited ice time. anyways, it seems that fighting in the new NHL isnt a major necessity so, we dont really need him
  5. with all the shots that the leafs are giving up this season, ed belfour won't be able to save that many and play that hard, game in and game out hes too old and wont be able to go a long, tough season, when he has to stop 50 shots a game. Especially not anymore with all the injuries he has substained. thats why i feel that the leafs are lucky right now and the luck will soon run out.
  6. On Hockeytraderumors.com, they say that Janne Niinima was a target of Bob Gainey two years ago and is rumoured to come to the habs after the game on saturday, many sources claim. I'm not sure if its believable or not, cause its probably just a made-up rumour.
  7. I'd would go for Niinnama (sp) also, we need a top four defenceman. When Zednik comes back, that will fill a spot on the offence
  8. I like the coldplay song 'fix you' at the beginning of the game. I definetly agree that the U2 song has to go, last years goal song was way better. Last years song doesnt get repetitive like the 'vertigo' song

  10. I was reading on spectors hockey website and it said that he may be available. I'm not saying, lets jump the gun and trade for him, but its something to look at down the road. He's a good two way defenceman that can play the powerplay and can add size to the team. The only problem might be that the Islanders wouldnt want to trade him to a team that they may be battling for a playoff spot.
  11. I do agree that the habs do have a decent group of guys on defence but it the oppurunity was there to pick up a solid #1 d-man I would go for it. I feel more safe in the last two minutes of the game with a Boynton or Ohlund, then Rivet or Bouillon
  12. wow, if thats true as of October 1st, that we can make Boynton a contract offer and only have to give up 2nd rounder i'd say go for it!!!! He's a #1 D-man and we could offer him 2- 2.5 mill and he would prolly except. I do believe in waiting and giving the youth time to shine but Boynton is still pretty young and he would definetly give our defence a shot in the arm!!!!
  13. thats right.......Latendresse scores his first goal of many in a habs uniform. GO HABS GO
  14. i agree too......2000 was definetly a turn-around year for the canadiens when it comes to trades. the Zednik trade was the best in that year.
