  1. Let's see Larry was 19, Gainey was 23, Serge was 20 something I believe and Toe was before my time.
  2. At least that's the impression I got from the article at rds. My french isn't the best but I think it said that Ivanans will take Dags place to deal with the goons on Toronto.
  3. Yeah that was a beauty of a goal he scored. Holding on the the puck long enough to get Weeks commited then putting it in. Looked like he had been doing it for years in the nhl.
  4. I like the team as well but they need at least 1 dominating dman to make them better. Markov is the only guy that you can say is a #1 dman out there. Komi is getting better but still not there. Souray is either very good or horrible like tonight. He needs more cosistency. Boullion, Rivet and Dandeneault are really just filler. 2 good solid vet nhl dmen with some speed would make this a hell of a lot better team.
  5. Good game for the most part except the first 10 minutes and the last 5 minutes of the game where the whole team went to sleep except Theo. Souray and Dandeneault both suffered major brain cramps throughout the game but Markov played like a true #1 defender. No Dman comes close to Markov on this team. He is the best Dman on this team with the rest of them battling it out for the #2 to 6 spot. Dags is in major danger of losing his spot to Perezhogin. His speed is needed on that line because Ribs skates like an old man and Dags is like just as bad. Unless Dags can start poppin' them in on a consistent basis there is no need to deny Perezhogin from that spot. Good and lucky start to the season..keep it up !! :ghg:
  6. He's playing like he has a bad bout of constipation.
  7. Well that's Linden_Fan for ya. Never gonna change.
  8. Perezhogin goal was a thing of beauty!!! I'm one of the few guys that supports Dags but Perezhogin would bring some sorely needed speed to the second line with Ribs and Ryder. Let's see if the kid can continue to impress. If so I'm sorry Dags but youre gonna have to step aside.
  9. Yeah Souray looked bad but he wasn't the only habs that looked awful.
  10. Wow the first 10 minutes of that period was the worst hockey I've seen the Habs play in at least 10 years. Thank God they woke up. Hossa's goal could of been scored by a pee wee, the set up was beautiful. Hossa disappeared after he scored. Wouldn't be giving him the scoring title yet.
  11. There's always someone on these hockey boards that is negative regardless of how the team they supposedly like is doing. Beckham for example is one such person. Habs are looking better than they have in years and start the season with a win but still negativity. He is rampantly racist to the point of embarrassment. Reminds me of a guy that frequents the espn boards by the name of Linden_Fan. In fact unless someone tells me otherwise, I am going to address him as Linden_fan from now on because there can't be 2 people that negative in the world. It is surely you Linden_Fan and don't try to deny it.
  12. Seems beckham has a hardon for this guy. Hey I live in Hamilton, maybe I could talk to him to see if he's interested in a date with you. Seriously, I think that next years draft is going to be centered on getting some D prospects because the organization is pretty thin in that area. What are the chances of taking a D-man with the first pick? Place your bets.
  13. I like the top line the way it is and I don't see a need to change it. Your reasons that Philadelphia would want the trade are good reasons for the Habs not wanting the trade (ie a guy who doesn't do well in the playoffs, a guy that is about to retire, etc.). Why would the Habs want that? Wouldn't we want a guy that does well in the playoffs? I like Zednik and I happen to think he is a great match for that line. He is the hard accurate shooter on a line with 2 great setup men. Sounds good to me. :ghg:
  14. Hmmmmmmm..I sense big brother ie watching......
  15. So how is that different from 90% of all nhl teams?? So you're the shit disturber here. You sure you didn't go by the name Linden_Fan in another certain hockey board?
  16. It's saying on rds that it's not a serious injury to the same wrist he was operated on.
  17. The 30 game thing wouldn't have much bearing on cutting Hainsey because he could always get his 30 games in later in the season. By that time they would have a definete opinion on Hainsey because right now he is pretty much an unknown factor. Who can say for sure what Hainsey can do in the NHL because he has only played a handfull of games there.
  18. A one-way contract doesn't mean a player can't be sent down. It just means that you still have to pay him his full NHL salary to play in the minors. Ahh I see. Well I guess Van is happy either way, he still gets paid.
  19. I'm surprised by the cuts because I thought they would keep Hainsey so he wouldn't go through waivers and send Streit down to Hamilton to learn the North American game. That way they could give Hainsey a better evaluation and then make a decision about trading him or not. Hainsey has hardly played any games in the Habs uniform. This would be a learning experience for Streit which would help him later in the season and there was no risk of losing him to waivers. As for Van, I thought he had a one way contract. Guess I was misinformed. Although these were surprises I think they made the right choices in terns of picking the best players for the job. Ivanans is bigger and more intimidating than Van and I think Streit is the better dman but I would of liked to see what Hainsey could do with a few games under his belt in the NHL.
  20. You weren't the only one saying that;)
  21. It's the best and obvious thing to do. No need to rush the kid. Kind of thought they might try him out for ten games to give him some real game experience and then return him to juniors but I guess that wasn't in the plan.
