  1. You're probably right Stogey... he may have value, but worries me that he may need till the playoffs to get back to what he can really do, and that we trade away a young guy that has proven he can score a bit.
  2. Ah, ok thanks Brian. He's gotta be worth a second no?
  3. Ahhh, the old cap thing. Do we have anything that Dallas may want to make it happen? Goaltending prospect maybe?
  4. Never considered it that way, I was thinking the idea of giving Galchenyuk some help to score, not Plekanec to check. Hopefully Gallagher's hand gets better, then I'd be happy where he's at.
  5. Maybe DD can make a tape to tape? But then again, Michell or Ghetto would miss the net, so there's that. I couldn't say McCarron stays on his feet any better than DD over his last few games, so whatever... Switch Shaw and Gallagher and get Emelin off the top pairing and I'd be happier.
  6. Thanks Brian. I remember wanting Sharp a couple years ago, you didn't like the idea at the time because of contract left etc. What do you think this year?
  7. I don't see our problems being all about that breakout pass. Too many of the Habs players are bowled over easily, and cannot keep possession long enough in the O zone to create chances is a big problem, small and not so skilled players, relied on to score, but can't. Plekanec, DD, Flynn, Mitchell, Lehkonen, Byron, Gallagher, Lehkonen, and then add the hulking McCarron to the can't score list, and bang, there is more than the PK Subban breakout pass missing, that's 8 of them in the current lineup. Only 4 Mtl forwards have scored in the last 10 games, that's not just a poor breakout pass... Julien said it was execution vs Isles, no tape to tape passes of any kind, and boneheaded defensive breakdowns, especially from Emelin, Beaulieu and Petry, and bang, a close game is lost, at least every second game as of late. Lehkonen is the only one of the smurfs I am interested in keeping at this point, and he needs to be on Galchenyuk's wing, the rest of the players I've mentioned, well, suck at scoring goals in the NHL to be honest, Gallagher being the only exception, and his hand is facked... Team couldn't score enough last year, and nothing's changed other than we have a PP Dman that has scored 14 goals so far instead of 6 all year... The team is size and skill deprived, and has Emelin in the top pairing, all glaring holes.
  8. To watch Hanzal, or maybe Wideman as well?
  9. Here is the link... http://www.nhltraderumors.me/2017/02/report-nhl-head-coach-fired-for-abusing.html
  10. Me too, and really as others have said, he's still pretty good...
  11. I read a story yesterday, and forgot to save the link, but it said that Therrien was fired basically for going off in a degrading tirade on Shaw, an endless rant that got personal, in the dressing room, until Price stood up and told MT "that's enough". Story said it was the moment of "everyone has had enough" of MT, thus leading to his firing after Bergevin's meeting with the team leadership group... Anyone else hear this ?
  12. Read what I said above... "to have a more physically capable forward core, not saying "sand paper, truculence and fighting ability" just size and strength to go with, not instead of speed." I specifically said size and strength...not to replace speed but add that factor. Wouldn't hurt to trade for a bit of size, I'm not sold on the size means nothing in the playoffs just yet...
  13. Was hoping to see Emelin drop down the lineup, I haven't seen a reason to think he is any better on the top pairing than Beaulieu...I know, that's bad.
  14. zumpano21 Maybe, you know, in light of the feminist movement, yes, Chucky should have countered with a left hook... what's good for the goose thing
  15. You grouchy? Naw.... I agree, we need more than one forward, but I never said that's all we need. We need one scoring forward, but personally I think we need 2 forwards with size, to replace 2 smurfs we have, to have a more physically capable forward core, not saying "sand paper, truculence and fighting ability" just size and strength to go with, not instead of speed. I have a feeling that Julien is going to want Bergevin to replace some of the undersized, with some size, at the deadline. I'm not as opposed to moving Byron as much as I am Gallagher, but nobody under 6' tall is on my protection list... Flynn, Mitchell, Lehkonen, Andrighetto, Carr, and DD are all on my "replace" list, Julien wants a more strenuous game with the puck, and the Habs have too many bowling pins that are knocked down too easily, and I bet it is high on the list for the deadline, to address the size of this team. Just my opinion of course...
  16. Yes exactly, a skilled forward to play with Chucky, is what the team, and Chucky needs. Too young and too skilled to even consider trading him.
  17. Galchenyuk doesn't know how to use his body defensively, he sometimes stops moving his feet, and that's the biggest problem I have with him. Julien will teach him defensive play better than Therrien did I'm sure, he didn't seem to like Therrien even a little bit, you could see it on his face. I still think he will be a star, and I think he needs to make things happen on his own offensively, you know, make the players on his line better, and I'm not disappointed to see Gallagher on his line, I think they can help each other. And yeah, faceoffs...meh.
  18. Don't you think Emelin has been "awfuller" for weeks now? Gotta be hard for Weber night in and out, with such an inept partner 50% of games. Emelin would be great as a #5-6 defenseman, and I doubt he will stay on top pairing under The Claude. Weber's still a stud most nights, and I agree the game vs Winnipeg was his worst as a Hab, however it was a joke in terms of effort and performance by the Habs, with Rad and Patch the most pathetic of the pathetic, hard to blame that loss on Weber alone, maybe NFLD could recall Plekanec that would help...
  19. I think that is something that Bergevin has given some thought to, might depend on what team looks like, or is playing like, by the deadline I suppose. However, if I were a betting man, Rad stays put and is re-signed.
  20. Nor desire... sometimes all that comes out of a hole is sh!t...not worth debating, because it's just that, sh!t.
  21. Kane is very skilled, but Kane is an idiot. No thanks.
