  1. As part of many waiver claims today, Mike Condon was claimed off waivers by Pittsburgh. He'll back up Fleury for a month or so until Matt Murray returns from injury.

  3. It looks like Alexander Semin's days with the Habs are numbered. He's on waivers today. http://www.habsworld.net/2015/12/habs-waive-alexander-semin/
  4. Zack Kassian was instated to the active roster today from the SABH program. He was then placed on waivers at noon. Presumably, they're hoping to get him into game action with St. John's but he'll need longer than a typical conditioning stint. http://www.habsworld.net/2015/12/habs-waive-zack-kassian/
  5. I thought the Habs might try a conditioning stint with him first but instead, they opted to waive Bournival right away. We'll find out tomorrow at noon if he clears. Considering how much time he has missed, I would think he will (although the Leafs tried to do the same with one of their youngsters and he got snatched up by Nashville). http://www.habsworld.net/2015/12/michael-bournival-placed-on-waivers/

  7. Wow, bold move? I suppose not so bold if you really think about it. Bourque is 3.3 mill not contributing. Looks like Sekac has his feet dig in ever deeper now.
  8. It appears that someone found those pictures, cause the Habs have put Mayer on unconditional waivers with the purpose of terminating his contract. Sad for him but I never understood why he was with us in the first place. Maybe they are making room for budaji.
  9. The Habs announced this morning that Drewiske will be put on waivers at noon. I'm not sure why they felt the need to do this given that he was eligible for a waiver-exempt rehab assignment but okay. That will clear his salary off the cap though (after tomorrow). Hopefully he clears, Hamilton could certainly use some more d-men.
  10. 1. Flexibility for salary cap in advance of trade deadline 2. Buyout 3. AHL 4. Other team pickup Smart move. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=419456
  11. Good news, it looks like Nokelainen is ready to come back. Bad news, it may not be for the Habs as he was waived today.
  12. It's a slow news day with no practice so I suppose this is semi-thread worthy. As Palushaj has now fully recovered from his shoulder injury, he had to be waived to return to Hamilton having signed a special AHL-only deal just after the lockout began. He'll also come off the cap tomorrow which also is nice (he has been counting at a partial rate based on his NHL service time from last year). Before the year, I'd have said there was a good chance he'd be claimed but now I'm not so sure as he has really struggled with the Bulldogs this season.
