Ryder joins elite company

Back on Feb 20 vs Washington, Michael Ryder joined a pretty impressive NHL group, and made a name for himself in the Canadiens large and vaunted history. With a powerplay goal in that game, he became the first Canadien to record at least 10 PP goals in his first three NHL seasons. Other NHLers who have done it include Mike Bossy, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Dale Hawerchuk and Luc Robitaille.

Pretty impressive compagny to say the least.

Not surprised thought........he will never be a complete player like some of them were........but in term of PP production and even more specifically....goal production therein....Ryder might one day ride on top of them all......farfetched ?...maybe but maybe not.....Ryder is after all a specialist in an area of the game that has become even more of a game braker then it ever was.

Like in real estate....a house value is relevant not only for the thing in itself but mostly for the area around it......Ryder was like a valuable player in the old NHL that has double it's value under the new NHL.......he's lucky that way and of course we are too.

Ryder possesses a stellar wrister and is also right handed......a combo perfectly suited for PP duty.

Right handed forward are a rare commodity in the league and in our club too.......while Ryder get used on the right wing at even-strenght he is moved on the left wing during PP........this off-wing favorable PP scenario is completed by playing a left hander on it's opposite side on the right wing.

Ryder is a crucial piece for our PP and for our club.......he is, along with Souray, the main reason behind our

superlative PP successes this season.........and I hate to think of what would have look like our season without those two.

On that same premise I am rather convince that both will be signed to a multiple years contract this summer.

I'm pretty sure that CJAD said during the last game that he's one PP goal away from tying the record.

That's correct.
