Pierre the Great
Parti Québécois Leader André Boisclair will remain at the party's helm, saying he takes responsibility for the result that has delegated the former powerhouse to third-party status. “The Parti Québécois remains a party with deep roots in the region and maintains support in the major cities,” Mr. Boisclair said on Tuesday afternoon. “I showed courage during the election campaign. I still have a lot to show yet.” http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/sto...y/National/home http://www.cyberpresse.ca/article/20070327...42/cpactualites

Pierre the Great
more of the article: Mr. Boisclair said he plans to lead the party into the next election, but acknowledged that he had misread the electorate during the campaign. Another referendum on sovereignty “was not, apparently, a priority,” he told media. He said, however, that the overall voting trends supported the PQ's position within Quebec. Two-thirds of seats were given to people who do not accept the status quo, he said.
Athlétique.Canadien
He said, however, that the overall voting trends supported the PQ's position within Quebec. Two-thirds of seats were given to people who do not accept the status quo, he said. Nonsense, the "status quo" has traditionally meant in Quebec to be the PLQ versus the Federal government which has led to "no change" for what the Pequistes see as what needs to improve. Mr Boisclair, in this case this is a different type of "status quo" and that "no change" in this particular case involves YOU! What is a "PQ status quo"? Referendums! That's the "status quo" being dumped! He's attempting to deflect the issue. Edited March 27, 2007 by ATHLÉTIQUE.CANADIEN
