Spider-Man NL
This was posted on theflr.com by Henri Karjalainen : Andreas Dackell has signed a three year contract with his old team Brynäs IF in Sweden. No surprise that he doesn't continue in Montreal of course. Thanks for the good penalty kill efforts, Andreas.
Spider-Man NL
I looked around but I can't seem to find a link to this so I'm not 100% sure if Dackell is gone or not. <img src=http://metroboards.com/forums/metrofolder/dunno.gif>
Leafs Suck
Considering Dackell didn't play much after Dowd arrived, I think this move was bound to happen.
ch_nl
But I am sure. So is Brynäs. http://www.brynas.se/news_read.asp?id=1321
habsfan88
I hope we can pick up someone else who's worth it. Maybe another Dowd-type player would be a good addition. J.P Dumont wouldn't be bad either

If we do lose Kovalev, by all means, make a small offer for JP, but keep in mind we have prospects in the minors. Dackell gone means that Ward has a definite spot on the 3rd line. Thanks for everything, Dackell, let's hope and Stephan follow your lead... PMAC
Adios, Andreas, Thanks. I'd say we did well with Dackell: Acquired for an 8th round draft choice, several seasons of excellent effort and now that the Habs have younger players to fill the gap, he leaves as an UFA. Chuko
Dackell will play in Sweden next year and, according to RDS, Sundstrom will likely play in Sweden particularly if his good friend Forsberg decides to also play in Sweden. This is great news. Along with Juneau retiring, Dackell and Sundstrom leaving means we're getting rid of useless overpaid players. More money for Kovalev, perhaps Gainey will be tempted to fill one of these vacancies through the acquisition of free agent Ian Laperriere, and maybe a rookie like Higgins or Hossa will be ready to step up. Things are look very bright for the Habs over the next few years. We've definitely turned a corner.

And accoriding to me, (read the players heading overseas thread) Sundström will play in Sweden next year. And for those who missed it. Tommy Salo is Modos property. Ribeiro
He was a good defensive player, but come on: "Thanks for the good penalty kill effort"? Give me a chance to play in the NHL, half of what he's making and I'll give good Penalty Kill effort.
ch_nl
Hey, Ribeiro. Aren't you a little hard on Dackell now? He came in for basicly nothing. Stayed longer than many others and never complained. I think Dackell/Juneau is a great factor why the Canadiens have been able to re-build the team. They gave us a good effort on the third line and every team needs a third line. And all teams , but Rags, don't afford stars to play on their third. So therefore I think Dackell and Juneau was a great sollution.
habsfan88
Does anyone know sundstrom's status? I hope he doesnt leave he's good on the penalty kill.....a solid 3rd liner. I like him, I hope he doesnt go to sweden:(
ch_nl
Swedish newspaper has reported that he will play in Elitserien next season but nothing is certain. But I think he will be gone anyways.
