puck7x
Did anyone else catch it tonight? I did... They talked about Kovalev, said that he'll likely play for the Habs or the Pens next year, Davidson (yeah, I know) said that he loved playing in Montreal... but also said that he wouldnt mind playing with Mario in Pittsburgh again. (They also mentioned something about hip surgery... Not sure if they were talking about Kovalev though, they said that "he" wanted to play 2 strong years of hockey ... EDIT They were talking about Mario... duh) I think thats great news, when it comes down to the Habs and the Pens we know who can come up with the better offer $$$ ... Oh yeah they also talked about... - Guerin... Might be traded to Florida. Dallas will eat $4 million of his contract - Arnott probably wont be qualified, and will become UFA. Possibly join his buddy Guerin in Florida? - Newy/Roberts dont want to be leafs anymore, they'd rather play with a team who has a chance of winning a cup. They'll shop each other as a package to other teams. [Edited on 2004-6-6 by puck7x]
habsfan88
I knew nieuwendyk was done with the laffs, but then when I saw that roberts is going too..... That's great! The leaf fans love him and now hes gone:) woo hoo!!!
Leafs Suck
Their is a strong possibility they could go to Ottawa. Roberts played his junior hockey their and Nieuwendyk wants to go with him. If Acton is their next coach, I wouldn't be shocked if they signed their. wouldn't it be hilarous if they go their and win a Cup? man that would be too funny. Prime Minister Koivu
Yeah, I heard that on the hotstove too. It would be great to have Kovy back. I hope he doesn't play for peanuts just so he can play with mario again. The laffs are screwed. Roberts and newy are both awesome players. leafs
Leafs Suck
And with a possible year long strike, sounds like Belfour won't sign with anyone or might even retire. Uh oh. Who they gonna get? Chris Osgood? hahah
Fanpuck33_
Brining back Kovy is a must IMO. He is the star player we have been lacking. Koivu is good and all, but he isn't a star. With Kovy, we have 2 very solid scoring lines. If we bring in a upper tier D-man, I think this team could go a long way.

I think we need someone better than ribs on the second line center. I hope the guy will continue to grow and get better but I don't think he is good enough for that spot. :hlogo:
4EVERHABS
Ribs would be good on the wing and move Perrault to centre on that line with Zed. Koivu with Ryder and one of our highly touted prospects or a UFA. Kovy will not be back as he wants the world and truthfully he is not worth that as he is not playing with Lemieux. Zed could even score with Lemieux feeding him. Maybe move Rivet up forward, he is big 6'2" 207lbs. Put him in front of the net like he used to in junior. Mtl also used him at that position a couple of years ago. but like usual fix it if it ain't broke and move him back to D. Have Garon push Theo. If nobody is pushing you, why compete daily? But please do not trade him, he is cheap and a very good young goalie who is just coming into his prime Still need a good puck moving Dman, try using Hainsey or Beauchmin from Hamilton and see what they have. We have to use these players and see what they can do or we will be trading them without ever knowing their full potential. We have to get rid of Langdon, Sundstrom (I beleive he is gone) to make more room for a UFA. Big power forward would be nice but everyone is looking for one of them. I don't think I could disagree more with your comments (apart from using Hainsey or having Garon push Theodore) - Ribeiro is not a good winger, he doesn't like to work the boards. He works as a centre, he showed us last year. Keep him there, 2nd line behind Koivu, it works. Perreault needs to go, thanks for everything, and hopefully he'll move to Quebec City in the WHA. - Rivet hated forward (when playing on the PP last season) - he was quoted as saying that. He will be with us until his contract expires (Why, Savard, why?). If he can play half decent, keep him around. Maybe make him go in for wrist surgery like Souray... - Get rid of Langdon - ARE YOU CRAZY? This guy is the only muscle we have. Komisarek is not a fighter, Rivet and Quintal are not fighters, and if you expect Koivu and Ribeiro to do all the fighting, you're worse than Guru from the ESPN boards. :guru: (Guru). Next you'll demand that we re-sign Quintal, that we trade for Lapointe (Boston), and that we trade down the draft to get lots more picks (like our 1st rounder for 2 third rounders and a 5th rounder). That's crazy talk. Oh, right, and welcome to the board :/). Hopefully you're not hurt, I don't hate you, just disagree with your points. :ghg:
Prime Minister Koivu
We need langdon badly. Not only is he our only tough guy but his work ethic is an inspiration to the rest of the guys. Garon must play more. Ribs is all we have right now but he is a third line center. Not good enough to hold that second line. He had a good regular season but was nothing in the playoffs. I think he is too small. To be a serious contender, our defence needs a complete enema. Komi will be a star ofcourse but the rest of the guys need help.
