alexstream
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/standings/ It's pretty much set in the East as far as I'm concerned. Out are Buffalo (no miller, no vanek) and lowly Canes', Leafs, Sens', etc. the positions will change from 1-8... but no one below 8 has a chance to make the playoffs if the first 8 teams play 500 hockey. Particularly since the "hottest" team of the lower part of those standings is the Leafs and they're gonna unload most of their good players by wednesday. The west is a more intesresting picture. Columbus, Anaheim and Edmonton are not "that" solid. and Nashville, Minny, St-Lou, Dallas and even LA could make a strong push for 6-8. ForumGhost
Looks like we are most likely to play New York, Philly or Florida in the first round. Obviously I would prefer Florida.
BTH
Looks like we are most likely to play New York, Philly or Florida in the first round. Obviously I would prefer Florida. How could we play Florida? We'd have to pass Boston. It's either Philly, or we slip and play one of the top three: Boston, NJ and Washington. Out of all those, I'd want to play them in this order: 1) Bruins, 2) Flyers, 3) Capitals, 4) Devils.

BTH
Why would we have to pass Boston to play Florida? We're 5th and Florida's behind us in the standings. Either we have to pass Boston, they have to pass Washington, or we both have to pass Philadelphia and be the 4th & 5th seeds. That last one's at least possible, but not really likely, especially if they trade Bouwmeester.
