bombTHEice
Here's the link for the official site: http://www.ralphsworldjr.com/ BTW. Norway and Latvia will be in the top pool next year, both won their promotion tournaments yesterday.
beckham
Emelin was a pleasant surprise as an 18 year old who wasn't much hyped for a spot. Canada has only one 18 year old defenceman, Cam Barker, and so do the U.S.
beckham
Kostitsyn salvages his tournament with a big game against the defending champions. He was pretty unremarkable through the first three games he played. That may well turn out to be the high point as far as prospects are concerned. Halak wins the easy games and gets bombed in the tough ones. Same with Heino-Lindberg. Emelin has been part of a sub par Russian defence to this point. beckham
Kostitsyn had one great game, against the U.S., but sustained a concussion in his team's final game. Overall he wasn't prominent in his 4th (or 5th) WJC, but it is difficult to get a read because of the quality of the team around him. He didn't do anything to suggest he should have been drafted ahead of the likes of Ryan Getzlaf, Jeff Carter, Dan Fritsche and others however. Heino-Lindberg was lit up in the Swedish nets and ended up splitting time with the backup goaler. Halak had a decent tournament for the Slovaks although the Canadians had no trouble with him. Emelin was one of the better Russians in the final, scoring their only goal and competing to the end. He should be a key part of their team next year. All in all not much to get excited about for Habs fans. There was a decent chance that Kyle Chipchura would have made the Canadian team, and he will certainly be a key member next season.
