dlbalr
Live from the Bell Centre (going up directly against the Habs because evidently the organization isn't smart enough to realize more people would go to the game if the Habs weren't playing at the same time), it's the triumphant return of David Aebischer to Montreal as his conference leading IceCaps take on the Bulldogs. Active scoring leaders: Goals: Jaffray/King (15) Assists: Paul Postma (26) Points: Machacek/Postma (37) PIMS: Garth Murray (94) (yes, that Garth Murray...) +/-: Arturs Kulda (+11) Active scoring leaders: Goals: Andreas Engqvist (16) Assists: Frederic St-Denis (20) Points: Andreas Engqvist (31) PIMS: Zack FitzGerald (184) +/-: Ian Schultz (+5) Lines: Geoffrion-Engqvist-Nattinen DeSimone-Willsie-Schultz Lefebvre-Berger-Avtsin FitzGerald-Lampe-Slaney/Haddad St-Denis-Stafford Henry-Callahan Mitera-Fast Lawson Puck drop is at 7:30 PM EST and can be listened to by clicking this link: http://cham.player.amri.ca/
dlbalr
Scoreless nearing the midway point of the 1st, it's been a decent start for the Bulldogs though. Haddad is the scratch up front.
dlbalr
1-0 St. John's halfway through the 2nd, Craig Weller with the unassisted tally.
dlbalr
5 minutes left in the period and the Bulldogs have a whopping 9 shots on goal. I wonder if Aebischer has broken a sweat lately (only 3 shots in the 2nd).
dlbalr
Now 2-0 in the 3rd as Maxwell (yes, that Ben Maxwell) has the insurance marker. Willsie scores to make it 2-1! Assist to DeSimone.
dlbalr
Stafford ties it up! St-Denis and Willsie with the assists, goal came with 1:42 left.
dlbalr
Uh oh, shootout time (the Bulldogs are like the Habs in shootouts, simply terrible).
dlbalr
Schultz scores to win the shootout! Wow! Hamilton was down 2-0 in the shootout before scoring 4 straight to take it 4-3! http://theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1009441
Commandant
No points for Geoffrion tonight but scored a nice one in the shootout.
miklin
I was looking at the Montreal Gazette on-line and can't find an article about the game other than a piece on Geoffrion. Speaking of Blake, articles written about him refer to his Hometown as Nashville but hockeydb.com shows his birthplace as Plantation, Florida. Just curious which is correct? Born in Florida, moved to Nashville at a young age and grew up in Nashville. Played minor hockey there.
