dlbalr
The good news? The Bulldogs are up 1-0 in the 2nd on a goal from Engqvist. The bad news? Stafford was cheap shotted by Marcel Mueller (who got 5 and a game) and was carried off on a stretcher. Huge blow for Hamilton there. dlbalr
St-Denis takes a penalty...and the Marlies are awarded an empty net goal. Willsie goes ballistic chasing down the referee who from the sounds of things had quite the difficult night.

miklin
Official Marcus Vinerborg is the Swedish ref who seems to be getting fast tracked to the NHL (look Ma-we're international) and has been truly horrible in his two seasons in North America. Cannot handle one referee games like last night and is similar to longtime AHL ref Jeff Smith in his refusal to call penalties (still thinks it's 1990). Although he has done a few NHL games, his appearances back in the "A" means he's one of the not ready for prime time players. The call on St. Denis was not a thrown stick and the tying Marlie goal was bizarre permitting the puck and goalie to be shoved into the net. I realize the Dogs will not be making the playoffs but it's frustrating in that so much of the AHL officiating would have trouble in the CHL
