He did not want to play atfter the lockout talked about retirement and stunk out montreal and dallas. Ryder was a gift and MB took dallas to the cleaners on that one.One of the best trades in habs history in a while. Dumped a losing asset got something and cap relief. EXCELLENT. Ranks right up there. The Dallas board over on HFBoards was hilarious when that deal went down. They were convinced they were getting at least a first round pick for Ryder. Deal comes out it's Erik Cole and they are sending a third round pick with Ryder. The reaction was downright hilarious. It isn't much of a surprise that Joe Nieuwendyk lost his job soon after.
