dlbalr
It's the final Battle of Ontario (pending a surprise playoff matchup) as the Bulldogs (31-25-11-0) look to hang onto a playoff spot for another day as they travel to Toronto to take on the Marlies (31-24-9-0). With a win, Hamilton could be as high as 7th after today. With a regulation loss, they could be in 3-way tie from 8th-10th (with the other two teams having three games in hand). It's safe to say this is a must-win game. Tangradi - Hudon - Hensick Carr - Andrighetto - Sorkin Bowman - Dumont - Thomas Fournier - Dowell - McNally Allen - Ellis Bennett - Dietz Finley - Shea Condon Scratches: Crisp, Macenauer, Makowski Injuries: Bournival, Drewiske, MacDonald, Nygren, Tinordi (based on +/- data from previous games) Leipsic - Rupert - Brown Nylander - Froese - Frattin Ross - McKegg - Leivo Bodie - Manderson - McLaren Loov - Granberg Percy - Nilsson MacWilliam - Mikkelson Bibeau Puck drop is at 3:00 PM; AM900 will have the play-by-play, click the banner below to listen. DON
Bournival, Bowman & Fournier listed as in McNally, Macenauer, Crisp out
DON
Dogs down 1-0 13:14 of first. I think McNally is playing.
DON
88.3% PK 1st in league (PP is a solid 30th).
dlbalr
At least Bournival (if he is back) and Bowman being back should help.
dlbalr
I listened to the entire second period and I still don't know if Bournival's in or if it's an error on the scoresheet as I didn't hear his name or McNally's. Still only down one at least.
DON
Yes, I am not sure exact forward group?
dlbalr
Yes, I am not sure exact forward group? The first three lines seem to be correct (aside from the fact they were getting juggled late in the period). I can't recall hearing a single fourth line shift though. dlbalr
Interesting quote from Dudley on Daniel Carr (may be paraphrasing slightly): "Now, more people in the organization think he'll play regularly in the NHL than don't."
dlbalr
Andrighetto scores to tie it up. More shockingly, it was on the PP. Huge goal there.
DON
Some paraphrased Dudley comments One issue Pateryn had, Dudley said was quickness. (I assumed he would of said, be more physical.) de la Rose, "competent thinking defensive player", more offensive as a winger than when playing centre. NHL goalie Condon should be sooner than later, Carr needs to work on skating/weight room, expects/hopes Dietz continues to improve and he had a "brilliant" training camp last fall. And Hudon has been "nothing short of spectacular" no room in top six with Pacioretty and others for Andrighetto at present, so he better learn to defend better and try in get a 3rd line gig. Can they get 2 points today?
DON
The captain gets one, nice time to bury one. 2-1; 5 minutes into 3rd
dlbalr
Dumont scores another PPG, 2-1 good guys.
DON
(Denver just scored up 3-1 in 3rd; so Didier's (possibly) start of AHL career likely on-hold for one more day at least.) (make that 4-1, Didier is definitely and strictly a defensive d-man, but seems strong/good sized)
DON
2 points, well done, hanging on .
dlbalr
And the Bournival-McNally mystery gets solved as McNally served a late penalty. Bournival's still out. That's a big two points though, good week overall getting 5/6. http://theahl.com/stats/game-summary.php?game_id=1014461
