last year comcast.net showed a limited amount of NHL games on their website. Now you had to be a comcast subscriber, but it was a fantastic development for the NHL nonetheless. During the playoffs, comcast.net opened their webcasts to the general public and while it needed some cleaning up, it was great to be able to watch my habs on my home screen.

I was wondering if anybody had any information about what, if any, plans exist to broadcast NHL games via the internet. I have as yet been unable to figure anything out.

I know nothing.

But I wish there was some legal ways for me as a Swedish Montreal Canadiens fan to watch games via the Internet as the technique is available.

To me it's a mystery why the NHL hasn't done anything about it since Im here and willing to pay for games I want to see.

There already is an NHL channel in Canada. It's on my same package as Leafs TV, Raptors TV, Extreme Sports, RDS & some other sports channel (women's sports, I think).

They have all sorts of NHL-related stuff from 'NHL On The Fly' ( a broad coverage of all the games and other related news) during the season, and a whole bunch of other things like previous Stanley Cup series replays, other 'big' games replays, 'Ten Best...', etc.

To tell you the truth, I don't watch it much. It seems to be, as it should be (I suppose), a please everybody kind of network... not my kind of thing.
