  1. Damn we are exactly the same when it comes to the Habs I am very cool calm and patient for everything, but diss my Habs and i get very defensive, and your mistake tracking with players is also pretty much the way I see it.
  2. I Wish gill or hammer would have been rested instead of Mara.
  3. I totally agree with the above media statements from Wamsley and BrenD the media in all aspects of this world are 99% pathetic and not worth ever listening to it is all knee jerk statements to get the numbers with 0 credibility behind anything they. Aarrrgggg! I don't even wanna get started onthis topic because I will be ranting for pages. Once again I realty appreciate the intelligent people on this forum 99% it is a treat to read, because there is no nonsencible arguments just intelligent debates.
  4. Totally agree with this not just ak46 but all players, goalies as well. Stats are not something a player can be solely judged on, for example, if I am the player standing in front screening the goalie another shoots cleanly beats the goalie, I get no stat fir this but was a huge reason for the goal. Or you can flip that the other, let's say PK does one of has amazing rushes blows by the D shoots the puck at the net and his teammate was skating towards the net and the puck hits off of him not even knowing and it goes in and he is credited fir the goal. My point is that most stats are reserved for personal accolades and salary at the end the team result is what matters, because let's say Gomez gets a hat trick and we lose 6-3, then what was the point.
  5. Great analogy, just like yin and yang, there must be a balance of good and evil. Here's hoping we see the good sooner then later, the bad obviously being the plague of injuries.
  6. One of my favourite quotes that I like to try to see in this team this year is. "If you can be strong in the face of adversity, you will be invincible when times are good".
  7. I hope the Habs can give me a good birthday present today!
  8. Just as it would be illl advised to let Wis walk, I wouldn't underestimate Markov he is still in his prime and I would still choose him over 85% of the D around the league
  9. Great thread one funny thing I noticed was Carolina's wins seem a little off to me. Lol Nice touch again with the music! Go Habs go
  10. +1 Sadly controversy sells for some reason. Good use of music Bar
  11. I guess the main reasons shy I figured Gill and Hammer is that we don't have too much cash, and their new deals definitely should stay in the 1.5 million range so at that price it's not much more then a rookie, but I believe they would have much more of an impact on and off the ice which would be valuable to PK. Unless it's Markov or Wiz then it's a whole different story, but to keep both, with our remaining cap space the 2 older guys would give you the most value for your dollar IMO.
  12. I think JM,s hands are kind of tied as far as personal goes, but definitely get Pleky off the point and replace with PK on the power play. Also someone here said dress 7 dmen I also agree. If you dont mind I want to sort of expand on the thread BrenDittero. What would you do this off season if you were PG with our situation at D. We have a handful of competent D at our disposal. Subban, Spacek, Hammer, Gill, Wiz, Markov, Mara, Sopel, Picard, Weber, Gorges. Who stays and who goes, assuming we mould next years roster from these guys.My choices would be Gill-PK Hammer-Wiz Markov-Gorges Sopel as 7th, and maybe Weber or Mara or Spacek to take Picards role. The rest walks or used traded for picks to free up some cap space.
  13. Yeah I guess a slump shouldnt be that unexpected, since we've only had 1 real slump this season. This should hopefully make them hungrier and even further the "us against the world" mentality, which I think is the only way they can do serious damage is with this mindset.
  14. I hope I'm not falling into the love/hate thing cause that's certainly not my intention I'm just trying to be realistic in the sense that the Habs don't need to finish first or win everygame or play 100% everygame to have something good to say, just trying to have cooler heads prevail I guess.
  15. Even though thus is the positivity thread I still have to be realistic, when I see a Jersey game I basically file it as a loss, that's actually the only team that I think is the Habs' Achilles Heel.
  16. I agree the scapegoating thrown at those 2 is getting really old, and uncalled for. For me the TEAM wins or loses. And even when the time comes to change coaches it's usually more of a need for change rather then getting rid of a bad coach, similar to changing your goalie during the game to wake up the players.
  17. Yeah I clearly remember in 93 down the stretch when we slumped I blindly made a bet with a friend of mine who said we would get knocked out in the first round, and I randomly said we would win the cup. Needless to say it was the best $20 I ever earned in my life. I can't believe 18 years have gone by since, I clearly remember every moment of the win and especially the day after. Ah good times...
  18. I agree with all of the above, I was also thinking that with the pax incident, and the fans calling for blood and presuming that the Habs were gonna play desperate hockey to avenge the pax injury has been emotionally draining , and with all the adversity it has caused them to overthink and play tight. I'm stealing this one from Mr. Price, but I think the fans should chill, and appreciate that were in the playoff picture, and look forward to Pax coming back., rather then still dwelling on the past that we can't change. I thought the fans were embarrassing tonight. I just don't see the logic in booing your own team or players. Those are the fans that embarrass us.
  19. They seem frustrated they need to simplify, and get on the road the fans at the bell center aren't what they need right now.
  20. Here is the place where there is no scapegoating, no hindsight "intelligence" or yo yo reactions to any game. To fire this up I just wanna say that if we can look at a guy like Gomez and forget his salary for a minute (which isn't his fault it's Sathers) if we take Gomez out of the lineup we are a 1 line team. If anyone made Gomez's salary I'm sure the complaints would be on them too. This group of guys have constantly been a pleasant surprise, and I dOnt think many teams would be able to maintain their position with these many injuries, and extremely questionable officiating. I mean it was only a few years ago where a Markov injury meant total devastation. I believe in this group and the coaching. GO HABS GO P.S. I borrowed the idea of this thread from the official Habs forum, but I like this forum better so I thought we needed one here.
