  1. Fun win. Slafkovsky will 'tease' Caufield for 'the rest of his life' | JDM (journaldemontreal.com) Juraj Slafkovsky intends to remind Cole Caufield often that Slovakia had the edge over the United States at the 2024 World Hockey Championship. https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/news/hes-so-f-in-competitive-canadiens-juraj-slafkovsky-is-shining-for-slovakia 'Slafkovsky hasn’t registered a goal yet through two games, but he has three assists on Slovakia’s top line. But one thing’s clear: he’s been one of the best NHLers at this tournament early on.'
  2. Why Berkly Catton’s skating and work ethic make him one of the 2024 NHL Draft’s best - The Athletic (nytimes.com) Strong skating never hurts, pretty glowing write up on Catton. "NHL Central Scouting describes his game as follows: “A highly intelligent player that generates a lot of scoring chances and leads his team in scoring. Has excellent vision to go along with his high-end skill set. NHL skater with an explosive first step that allows him to evade checking and pull away from defenders. Plays an up-tempo game and is very clever at controlling the pace of the play while creating time and space to make plays." 2024 NHL Mock Draft: Levshunov to Blackhawks, Dickinson to Blue Jackets? How Round 1 will shake out - The Athletic (nytimes.com) Pronman has couple odd choices at 3/4 in mock draft, hope it plays out;
  3. Habs have lots of LH d-men. Hutson-Matheson-Guhle arnt going anywhere anytime soon. If his value is high and added to Jet pick, might be a great return in top-six forward for a 3rd pairing d-man. Better than dealing away RH Mailloux, i think. And Struble-Harris-Barron-Kovacevic- Savard value not real high in trade.
  4. Teams continue to ask Habs about Xhekaj — The Fourth Period "Several clubs have been reaching out to the Habs about their blueliners, but one player Hughes does not have interest in moving at this time is Arber Xhekaj."
  5. I dunno, seems most of these guys are overrated and dont do much once hit the NHL, so dosent excite me too much or any.
  6. 2-2 in Bruin game early 3rd, go Panthers. Outshooting the Bruins 31-18 3-2 Barvov Panthers mid-3rd
  7. A Logan Cooley re-do perhaps? NHL Draft 2024 prospects ranking: Celebrini leads Pronman’s April list, Levshunov follows - The Athletic
  8. Slaf just missed scoring on a breakaway.
  9. Slafkovski playing 'frisky' in game this morning, just tossed into box for mixing it up. I think Kapanen scored for Finns in that game.
  10. Catton reminds me of the 2022 pick Habs passed on for Owen Beck, Jagger Firkus (too small?). A guy who can simply score alot... in the WHL at the junior level at least. Again yesterday Firkus was 1st star and led MJ to 2nd easy win in finals, leading WHL playoff scoring, with 14g 31pts in 18 playoff games. Yakemchuk seems Shae Weber-like; physical RH d-man, can score and big shot. 7. Ottawa Senators: Carter Yakemchuk, RD, Calgary Hitmen (WHL) Something just feels right to me about Carter Yakemchuk landing with the Ottawa Senators but I just can’t place it. Is it that they don’t have a whole lot of talent in their prospect pool and he represents a home-run swing on talent? Maybe. Is it him becoming the first draft-eligible WHL defender to score 30 goals in a season in over 20 years? Maybe. Is it his large frame, penchant for violence and 120 penalty minutes in just over 60 games? Oh, I think I found it! 2024 NHL Mock Draft: Horn’s Mock Draft 2.0 - The Hockey Writers - - NHL News, Analysis & More
  11. Why wouldnt they call a penalty from an obvious stick to face, from very quick video review? Those 2 oilers are pretty good.
