  1. That's why i think the habs need to get some D who can skate and move the puck. Suoray, Rivet, Komi, Bouillon are basically statues out there. Dandy is a great skater, Markov a little above average. Theo and Huet are fine, Theo just needs to stay in the net.
  2. I totally agree about theo, if it wasn't for him the last few years this team would have never made the playoffs. The defense needs big help.
  3. I actually would trade ribiero as well, i think the second line needs a center and left wing. Pleks may be the second line center but we definitely a solid left winger.
  4. Ribs was also playing with Bulis and Kovalev, i think that's why he looked ok. The second although it has changed alot with injuries and Julien changing people all the time is still minus 18 or something like that. They really only look good on the power play, ribs Dags and ryder can't make anything happen 5 on 5.
  5. Yes, good point, i would have Bulis Murray Begin as a line, higgins Bonk and Sundstrom, hopefully higgins work ethic rubs off on Bonk. Unfortunately i don't see any trade value in Bonk and Sundstrom. Defense and the second line is really what needs to be addressed.
  6. None of this really matters, there is no way vancouver would make the trade. Trades Montreal needs to make is to get rid of the dead weight and floaters the current roster has. Improving the defense should be a top priority. The habs could probably score more if they could figure out how to get the puck out of there own end.
  7. Sykora is not going to help out a whole lot. He's not an upgrade from Zednick. Zednick plays very well with Koivu and Kovalev. If your going to move Zednick pair him with souray or Rivet for a top D to play with Markov.
  8. It was just a matter of time before this started. I actually would make this trade, i'm not sure if vancouver would. Theo's goals against is still lower then then Huet. I do like the way Huet makes good decisions with moving the puck. The other trades are to upgrade the defense. In my opinion they are all expendable but Markov and Komi. Dandy i'm sure stays due to a 4 year deal. The habs need to get a few D who can skate and move the puck out of there own end. This continues to be the main problem. Not goaltending.
  9. If people are looking for Murray to be a scorer he's not. What you see is what you get with him, he is tough, plays physical, good work ethic and brings some toughness to a team that currently doesn't have much. He'll be a fourth line checker, energy guy. I like the trade, the habe already have enough soft forwards who don't play hard. The habs really didn't need Hossa.
  10. Higgins actually had a good game as well, played tough down low, well against the boards and his usual good defensive plays.
  11. I agree with Murrays effort. What he brings to the table is what the habs need every night, effort and someone who will be physical. You can never have too many of those hard working players. I would hope that when players come back, he should stay with the big club. He should be on the 4th line with Begin and Bulis. That is a fast checking line. Higgins Bonk sundstrom should be the third line. The more i see Ribiero and Dags play, the less i'm impressed. I'll catch some heat but they should be moved for a center left winger to play with Plek and Ryder.
  12. Nice, sounds good accept Souray has to hit the net before he can score. That is a big problem
  13. Yep, i totally agree, losing is never acceptable. The effort is what i'm most disappointed about with this current team. Even in the hot start i would consider them to be lucky on several nights because they were outplayed. Julian seems to only punish the rookies with ice time. However floaters like Ribiero, Dags, Souray, Rivet at times, Sundstrom, Zednick a little see a ton of ice time and produce little if not nothing. As evidence look at the plus minus. Also 5 on 5 this team is awfull. The stupid penalties are a problem I think the habs lead the league in hooking and too many men on the ice. That is lazy and not focused on the job. Changes have to be made, i'm in favor of players, the core has been together for a while and really hasn't improved.
  14. The way the defense has been playing this year chnces are very unlikely for theo to get on a role. The D really needs to tighten up, skate and get the puck out of there own end. They spend way too much time there. Winning a few 1 on 1 battles wouldn't hurt either.
  15. Yes i agree, teams will lose games and go into funks, so if the habs are going to lose they atleast need to show up and put forth a good effort. More often then not they have been lazy and soft. Not winning any one on one battles. That is the concerning part.
  16. I think there will be a few minor deals. I'll talk about some real trade possibilities. Ribiero maybe Dgs for someone like calder or arnason. This would then make the second line calder plek and ryder. I don't think anyone will take bonk or sundstrom. leaving the third line higgins bonk sundstrom. The fourth line would be bulis murray and begin. Good tough checkers. This way 4 lines can roll over. The other trade possibility is souray or rivet and zednick for a younger top 3 D. Maybe Jackman from St Louis (example) and a pick. Montreal needs to get some puck moving D around. Alot of posters are blaming the coach, i have a few issues myself with the way he coaches but motivation has been a problem for with the core players the last several years. The D other then Markov really hasn't improved. that is Rick Green's job. Maybe he should go. Maybe it's time for several of the core players to move on, the defense is average at best. Playing hard has been the main problem in my opinion for the last few years.
  17. Do you really beleive Florida would want Bonk? I don't think he has any trade value at this point. Ex coach or not, he is doing nothing and he has been hurt all year.
  18. I would much rather trade ribiero for calder. He can play the left side and center. This way the habs wouldn't have to trade Plex. The second line would be calder plex and ribiero. If they were going to trade zednik, they should throw in souray or rivet and get a top 3 D man.
  19. I think they are stuck a little there, i don't think theo has been overall that bad this year. I agree that a few games were bad nut above average in most. The habs have alot of Goalie depth. The only trade that could be feasable is maybe vancouver. Something like theo and a dman for Jovanaski, bertuzzi, auld or something. Assuming the rumours are true about vancouver seriously shopping for a goalie. The window is closing a bit for them
  20. He' clearly struggling, yes the line scored 2 goals against LA, remember they were still minus 1. I would trade him to Chicago for Calder. Throw in Dags as well. The second line would be Calder Plex and Ryder. Plus his comments we don't know exactly what was said in context but he's calling out the only reliable scorer the habs have. Not good.
  21. Bulis is what Bulis is. A very fast, pretty physical player with not much offense. Maybe 10-15 goals a year. He should be on a line with begin and Murry or someone like that on the fourth line. Great speed and forechecking with this line. Plus he is a great penalty killer.
  22. I'm not too sure who they would trade for Sykora or even how he could help. There are other players out there that could help more. Someone else mentioned calder is out there, i would much rather trade for him. Ribiero and Dags for calder and later pick. The new second line would be something like Calder, Plex and ryder. Then you get rid of some problems in the locker room as well. Especially with Ribiero's latest comments.
  23. Yes, i really think this is what the habs need. A shake up with a few core players. Let's face it, they haven't done much over the years. Only Theo's play in the past got them into the playoffs and onto the 2nd round. Don't get me wrong i do like some of them i just think we need to improve some players.
  24. It's simple, i watched part of the game, they were very inspired and last night anyway they had alot more speed in their line up. The new players all played very well. Boston also has the size to play with Sens. This will be a good deal for the Bruins, which means bad news for the habs.
  25. Yea, now that's a good trade, i would try to trade souray for a tough checker, Ninimaa can take sourays spot
