I applauded the clean hit on JT. Not so much the fight. The interference hit in Chicago was a mistake for sure, but I want him crushing guys as long as he isn't taking himself out of the play. He is engaged when he's smashing.

This looks about right in an eye test as well. Monty has had a great season, with phenomenal saves he shouldn't make, and letting in the odd goal, that every goalie on the planet should save. He is as everyone keeps saying here, an average nhl starter. He also earns a less than average starter salary, which frees up money for other needs.

I think Commandant summed it up perfectly. Savard is slow, but is probably more reliable than Struble or Xhekaj on the right side. So he has probably needs to stay there. For game one at least. Struble has played better over the season than Xhekaj. Leaving Xhekaj in the press box for now. As far as the physical factor, Struble plays solid, hits, and clears the net front, but with less penalty risk. Nobody is revenge fighting in the playoffs, so that's a non factor. I would start declining pairs as they were on game 82. Ghule Hutson Matheson Carrier Struble Savard

Make it so.

With Dach, you're most likely right, but only because of the knee. There's no way of knowing a players future injuries, so it's a hindsight issue. With Reinbacher, I feel like it's too early to tell. As others have stated, would they have drafted demidov if they had michkov. Would Leonard be more valuable to the team than a defensively reliable mobile rd? Time will tell. In a year or 2, you may be right on Reinbacher as well. Let's get a look at him after a full nhl season before deciding that though.

You're assuming they would have traded romanov for the pick to target Nazar. Nazar may not have been as high on their list as Dach. Or on it at all.

I have never cheered for the flyers. Not one time. Here i am cheering for the flyers. -
Yep. If demidov pans out plus hutson at 10+ per, there is going to be a need for entry level deals and quality drafting/development at hopefully 20th to 32nd pick range. Lets become the 90s red wings 2008 to 2023 bruins, 2018 to 2025 lightening. Strong core with talent coming through the system at all times.

Washington playing uninspired or playing poorly? If it's the latter, that could be a good thing. Let's get those 2 points tomorrow please. -

Saw people in comments sections are calling him demigod. No pressure bud!
