  1. Ghule was strong all night. Suzuki is getting grumpy in his old age. He seems to be laying the body more lately.
  2. Smart challenge by Tocchet. No risk. You win, you play on. You lose it's game over either way.
  3. Agreed. Wait till he let's in a few softies or has a string of bad games and see how he recovers.
  4. They should draft the best player available. A repeat of galchenyuk kotkaniemi is not something I'm interested in. If the best player is a left handed defenseman and he stands out as better than other players, draft him. In 2 years, if there is a log jam at LD, find a hockey trade.
  5. I love this. Screw the tank. Time to learn how to win. I have no illusion that the boys will make the playoffs, but from the beginning of the season I was hoping to finish the year in 20 to 25 position instead of the 28 to 32 position. I just wish Slaf was having a better season.
  6. Wait and see how he recovers from adversity I suppose. He's in hamburgler mode right now. See how he bounces back from a softy goal or 2. Or a bad game. So far so great though.
  7. He won more puck battles tonight at least. I'm not sure sending him down will accomplish anything. But ya, he's definitely playing poorly compared to last season.
  8. Let's hope for 8 out of 10. I would be wrong have predicted 7 out of 10 though.
  9. Habs have improved over the course of the game. No complaints overall from me. Dach is starting to find his game. He's still making bonehead plays, but his play when he gets touches he is improving. Overall ok road game.
  10. I don't disagree with you, but I do feel that he's starting to get his swagger back, and that's a good thing.
  11. Dach looked good with the puck in the neautral zone and o zone. Slaf looked bad with the puck everytime he had it. Tough game. Reckon they got goalied. Happens sometimes.
  12. I think this balance will be necessary for the Habs going forward. I keep seeing people say, " x player would not be a 3rd line centre on a good team" or " that's way too much money for a bottom 6 player". The difference is that Montreal doesn't have a single superstar on the team. I don't think that's a bad thing though. A deep team with quality throughout the lineup will need to be the formula for Montreal to succeed. That means the bottom 6 drive the bus sometimes.
  13. And that's after handling Barkov and Point. I read Brian Wilde's game article and he points out Suzuki's plus minus. On this dumpster fire defense before 3 weeks ago, its amazing how well he's done, goal diff wise. Quiet, unrecognized Bergeron clone? Not quite that level obviously, but his smarts goes largely unnoticed.
  14. Brian Wilde floated the idea of an external 2nd line centre with Dach as number 3 and Beck/Kapanen as number 4.
