If you recall the day Chara was out, the boys hammered them like crazy. When Chara plays, our boys seem to be a little meek in the hitting department. They will fight and scrum but not hit. I hope to see them crush everyone.

Our guys are coming into the playoffs on a high. Komi is coming back (please not too soon!) Smoke and Plek will take some extra faceoffs for the 2nd line (something our centres need to continue to work on). Carbo and his kids will not take Boston lightly. They have known that the Bruins have a chip on thier shoulder for a while now, and come out hard every time. The way for this team to win is use speed and Attack Attack Attack. I am so pumped. I have to work a lot during the playoffs, and I get off shift right in the middle of the game, so I am going to buy a portable Xm radio with portable antenna today. Any opinions on these things? Which one to buy. Dead zones etc...

You will be wealthy some day with creativity like that. You could list your bet made at 22-1 odds which is now 7-1. Someone looking to get in on the action pays 100 instead of 50 and he has 11-1 odds instead of 7-1. I probably overlooked something, but that is brilliant.

As for the success of Ribs and Huet. I'll keep my post simple. I've said this before, and I'll say it again. Some of Gainey's moves were made for a different reason that the analysts on TV and on our boards can see. He wanted the player out more than he wanted the best trade. I had high hopes for Ribs. I even liked him after his dishonorable flopping at centre ice. (You call yourself a Canadian Ribs? Shame on you.) Gainey knew that every day Ribs was in the line up, the team Chemistry would be impacted negatively. So Bag of pucks in, skilled Partying atitude problem out. Ribiero had a stellar season because he was traded. It woke him up. Huet was a different story. He was no better or worse than Price in the early season. He had stinkers and he had great games. He was a great guy who loved where he was, but the win and your in thing was not working. Gainey saw this and because a 2nd round pick is better than nothing, (especially with our scouts) bag of pucks in, Huet out. In the name of CHEMISTRY

Ya I don't know why the top seed would match up against the 4th or 5th in the second round. The only way that happens is if the bottom 3 are knocked out. That's what I thought.

Anyone kow what Higgins' face off percentage was? I was watching and saaw him win few faceoffs, but I don't even know if he was the centre for the whole game. I was distracted by taxes. I watched on the Buffalo channel. Man is that guy biased. One thing he pointed out was his disapointment at the cheering when it looked like Begin injured Sekera. Just let the chips fall where they may. If Flyer's win, they pass Boston...I would rather play Boston. If Pens win...our chances of 1st in the East are less. I agree. Higgins was a centre in junior. I don't think he is good on the faceoff though. When Koivu is waived, Ryder usually takes the face off...when that line is together.

Who we play is not important. CAN'T be important. How we play is everything. We need Begin to be a beast out there. I know I talk about him a lot, but the importance of a guy like him in clutch games is huge. I think you will see Dandy play more too. Hit, hit and hit some more. It's the playoff formula. This is one thing that worries me about this team. I hope Lil t!ts sees this and starts back with those career ending open ice hits. It sounds harsh, but the way to win playoffs is to grind the other team down. I would like to see them start with Boston obviously. Philly worries me a bit. I think they could outhit us and take away from our firepower.

I have a friend with season tix and he said I can have a set for a first round game. 330 AA. Nose bleeds, but they are decent seats. One game is better than none. Yeeehaaa

I think Vancouver is close to having a playoff team. 15 4th liners and a goalie. No' just kidding, but seriously, I think that a few pieces to the puzzle and they have a true playoff team. Think Dallas, New Jersey. Who were their superstars? Where were their offensive contributions? Vancouver has a pile of 180 pound kids that can grind and pound your soul until you lose the will to compete. I like the team for the first time in my life, and I was raised in BC. That said, If they meet in the finals I hope they all eat some bad Sushi and get brutaly beaten on the way to the hospital, thus renderring them useless against the mighty offensive prowess of My HABS.

I just made my $25.00 bet that the HABS would make the finals. The last times I made this bold bet were quite productive. 1986. Got the cup and I won $20.00. 1988 lost $50.00 because Mike Vernon cheated by knocking the net off the moorings every time a goal was iminent. 1993 I won $150.00 smackers. This year I figure the East doesn't really scare me too much. Any team including the Caps could make the finals. I'm gonna start making bets for my team and will not complain even if they get knocked out in the first round. Oh ya, my superstision is that I wear my Habs pin that I got for Christmas every day. I transfer it to every shirt, and I rub it before during and after games. I also wear Habs socks and my Price shirt for big games.
