  1. The press conference was simply attached to a rumor started by some idiot on another board. The guy was pretending to be Tom Fritsche, but it was an impersonator. Stuff like that is why we have the rule against posting rumors from other boards.
  2. I just had no idea what the heck was going on.
  3. Coke may not be good for your bones, but it isn't bad for them or anything.
  4. I know that. I was asking about the coca-cola thing. What is that about? I don't get it.
  5. Gotta keep the curve rule. It's asinine to give such an advantage to the shooter. Sticks are already more advanced and better than ever, the is absolutely no reason to let players use ridiculous curves.
  6. Only reason I knew that is because I was talking about it the other day with dlbalr, HW's stats guru. I stumped him with my question about the only Hab from Ohio. He then got me to say the Sutters instead of the Gretzky's, becuase I thought the Gretzky's were too obvious. I figured 6 guys surely beat one guy.
  7. Let's see, including playoffs: Sutters: 3,209 points Gretzky's: 3,243 points Without playoffs, JMMR is right, with playoffs, I am right.
  8. Interesting, last time that question was asked, in a previous thread, the Gretzky's combined for the most all-time, with the Sutter's coming second. I can't believe that dlbalr was wrong about something statistics related. Perhaps he included Gretzky's WHA totals?
  9. Actually, whoever said Jubliee Rink was correct. Also, the Mount Royale Arena was actually the third rink which the Habs called home. In between Jubilee Rink and Mount Royal Arena was the Westmount Arena. http://habsworld.net/LegendsA_15.php The Sutter brothers.
  10. Hehe, that was the "spoiler" from the first part of this thread. As for a movie, I'd go so it, but I don't think it would be very popular. The key thing about 24 is that the real-time movement is so unique. If they take that away, I think it loses a lot of its luster. It would be interesting to see how they would come up with a way to make up for the loss of real-time action.
  11. Speaking of season two, this season has reminded me of it quite a bit so far. Both involve a top presidentail aid/advisor helping terrorists get their hands on WMD's, with the idea that nothing bad will happen. Each time, of course, the terrorists outsmart the government officials, so Jack Bauer has to clean up the mess.
  12. Actually, Dags shoots left also. Still, no Nolan on this team.
  13. "I had a meeting with Bob and he told me I wasn't playing. Then I came back in the afternoon and he told me I was going to suit up. Luckily, it went well for me." - Canadiens LW Jan Bulis after scoring four goals against Philadelphia. I don't like that attitude. His playing that game went well for the TEAM, not just himself. Perhaps these guys need to learn what it means to be a team.
  14. Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner. Mario has the record with 13 shorties in one season.
  15. Not Messier, I looked it up. Surprised me a little actually.
  16. I had a feeling the Habs were bad about getting people in front of the net. That was the Blue Jacket's biggest problem while Nash was hurt. Now that he's back, they're a whole new team, one that doesn't hurt to watch every night. I guess my biggest problem with low shot totals is that it makes me think players are thinking too much. It occurs to me that players will constantly be over-analyzing the situation to decide if they should shoot or not. I think the problem in many cases would be being too selective about shooting. When you are constantly looking for the perfect shot, you are passing up on decent shots which will put pressure on the other team. It's just like a good PP, you have to be patient, but too often, people are too patient.
  17. It is, indeed, Mellanby, with 1465 career games played. You're up.
  18. He missed most of November and December with an injury, but played most of January. Averages about 14 minutes a game, but only has 1 goal and 2 assists on the season.
  19. While scoring chances is obviously a more important stat than shots, I disagree with you assessment that shot totals don't mean anything. A lot of the time, those "useless" shots turn into scoring chances. If you throw the puck at the net, there's always the chance that a man in front will be able to pound in the rebound.
  20. Not a bad guess, but you're off by 258 games played (including playoffs).
  21. Frank Mahovlich Dick Duff Bert Olmstead John McCormack Next Question: With Dave Andreychuk winning the Stanley Cup last season, who is now that active player with the most games played without a Stanley Cup Hehe, stole the question from Leafs Suck in a previous thread. P.S. Hannes, you got to answer it last time!
  22. Not ALL waived players are talentless hacks. Just look at Kristian Huselius. Stuck in a 3rd line role in Florida, Kristian was waived earlier this season. Claimed by Calgary, he has averaged a point a game with his new team, and is good enough to play on the first line with Iginla. Of course, Andrew Cassels is not Kristian Huselius.
