Koivu's bonehead penalty ends up in the back of the net....could see that one coming.

Wow...I knew our first line had been bad...but didn't realize it was THAT bad. I get the feeling that Koivu will bring a little something extra to the rink against Carolina, and will break out of his slump.

Plekanec is only now starting to cash in the kind of golden opportunites he hashad all season. Kovalev was setting the table for him that way right from the start, and Plekanec missed more of them than you'd expect a Georges Laraque or a Donald Brashear to miss. Plekanec is playing well now, but don't delude yourself...he was GARBAGE for the first two months of the season offensively.

Positives: -I liked what I saw from Kovalev tonight...he was playing smart and was effective on the PK. Set the table for Plekanec nicely on the shot, and the long pass was great (like to see our D-men complete a few like that on occasion). -Plekanec had two easy shots to make off of rebounds, and he cashed them both in..as he has been doing regularily in the second half of the season. Great to see, I hope he keeps it up. -Streit looked good, as he always seems to. -Souray continued to prove that he has become a premiere offensive defenseman. Negatives: -Higgins and Koivu looked awful again tonight...that has to change if the Habs hope to get any sort of roll going. -Lazy penalties continue to abound

Fitting that Souray be the hero. Looked good on Crosby to wear the goat horns, too.

Time for the first line to do something. If not, give the icetime to Bonk's line.

We definitely can't afford to lose Bonk. The more I watch, the more I think it's worth giving him the raise it takes to keep him with the Habs. Cuttting loose Rivet, trading Perezhogin, and handing Bonk a piece of the savings would be a great move in my book.

BTW, it's nuts to have Plekanec shooting there rather than Koivu.

I counted that as a loss in my mind when OT ended anyways...but still...big point after being bent over by the refs. Lots of character not quitting....and NO passengers tonight...everyone worked hard.

I hope Carbo skates em til they puke tomorrow. That should be a trend until they decide they'd rather skate hard in games than at practice.

Very little pressure in the Toronto zone...bad pace. Typical Habs 1st period.

No reason that we shouldn't win this one by a couple of goals...all it takes is a good effort. Not even a great effort, just a good one...and a touch of discipline with regards to taking penalties.

Only the MLB all-star game, now that home field for the World Series is at stake.

I'd pay that for Crosby NOW.

This is what I don't get: if you were miserable at your job and felt your boss treated you unfairly, you'd quit and work elsewhere. Why is it so bad when an athlete wants to change his place of employment?

I don't care for the Canucks at all...but...I root for them anytime they play any of our Eastern Conference rivals. For that matter, I root for ANY team from the Western Conference when they're playing one of our Eastern Conference rivals!

It might actually have the opposite effect. Gui could look over and say to himself "Okay, Kovy's asleep tonight...so it's up to me to take over." Gui accepts more of a leadership role, pushes himself a lil' bit harder, and before you know it...he's developing in leaps and bounds.
