  1. So has everyone concluded whether it's Carbonneau or Kovalev causing sports terrorism?
  2. This is all too neat for me, if it were a bargaining thing, there'd already be a big hoo-haa in the media over here. Except he quietly signs that way. Where is the "money or walk" article? Where is the "I want a bigger role on this team" speech? He'd have to be a fool to run away because of that, he hasn't got the name like Kovalchuk to manage a little ultimatum but Semin had a lot more complex situation such as militiary service and his reluctance to report. I don't think Perezhogin's coming back any time next season.
  3. Think this is worth a read to all you Huet lovers. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/01/14/sports/h.../14goalies.html
  4. I'd be annoyed if Souray was the only guy. Huet makes more sense. Not in an anti-Souray way. To be fair, they both got a good chance.
  5. The good - the curfew. I like it. In a mother hen way. The bad - we're still sucky on 5 on 5 and this is pretty much a team that we could easily face. I am scared that we are slowly becoming anti-playoff material.
  6. Well fans want to get another overpaid player and pump even more hype into that one. I've been pushing the UFA argument but I think many fans are still struggling with the idea of players that are traded or signed at UFA amounts. You see rosters where there are 3mil players and a couple being paid skittles.
  7. So what you really mean is that you're happy people are blaming Samsonov for the recent Habs losses?
  8. 17 game goal scoring drought I mean ahaha.
  9. Hope he does well. Though my biggest question is if Leland Irving was just as good? I know he was an outstanding player overall and one of the main factors they went with Price was "experience".
  10. I can't believe it either. I mean he shouldn'tve help turn that San Jose series around by scoring on Toskala! He was totally sucky in the whole pre-playoff run! I mean a point per game almost? And man, he was the only guy on the team that I wanted to get off the ice - I mean MAB and Greene were fantastic. (Okay I'm not good at sarcasm but I'm working on it) I'm biased here, I was a fan of this guy before he came here. So I'm still keeping the faith. He plays hard, he tries his best. I know people complain about him not going into the net enough but um, he's been thrown in the board headfirst before for trying that once and it's not a fun experience especially when he's actually healthy. Naslund recently just broke his 17 goal scoring drought. He gets paid 6 mil and his fans were ready to get rid of him.
  11. WIN! Though I must admit... I'm kind of sick of seeing these kids.
  12. Obviously they're going to complain on how little Canadian players we have with us. And how our goalies speak french but aren't even French-Canadian! Oh the scandal!
  13. I don't want to jinx anything but. Damn we're pretty good. Well we seem to have a better act than some teams. We're no Ducks/Sabres but we seem to have something exciting coming up.
  14. I always heard about this excercise but man it's amazing in real life. Samsonov does the same thing as well.
  15. I am sick of this self pity party that really seems to always happen after a Habs loss. Honestly, I think the game sucked, everyone played terrible etc etc. But I don't think it's a matter of needing superstar players. Everyone needs to fix their game. I don't like the sound of "this guy played worst. I blame the game on these guys". Because if one guy played great, it means squat to the team and we all now one or two great players don't bring a whole team to the finals, especially when they're against well balanced teams.
  16. Great to see more blogs get Habs representation, I'll definitely be linking this on a group blog I run.
  17. How about if the hand the mic to the goal scorer and make them sing along to it for everyone to hear.
  18. Jason Williams was just unlucky, the hit seemed normal. I think people are beating a dead animal concerning that hit.
  19. I love Souray. But I guess it's mainly because this article doesn't really cut up quotes and insinuate the impossible
  20. Just tie the game. You know. One goal. Please. Both my teams can't lose!
  21. I find this problematic, nothing proves that he explicitly went to the press to tell them that he wasn't happy. A lot of reporters generally work on post game morsels and press sound bytes along with what they can get from sources. Because the press decided to use his words into a huge story, his agent probably felt it was suitable to stand behind Samsonov - thus creating a misunderstanding where Samsonov doesn't want to leave but he feels insecure. No biggie, it should just be packed away and forgotten because nothing really ended up happening in the end.
  22. Agreed, I'm pretty surprised when he's suddenly painted as an arrogant self righteous bastard. People have been claiming about how he's a bad negative energy in the team etc. However he's been completely tactful and careful in his words. He's been a great guy in Boston and while Bruins fans don't really want him in the team, they can easily say that he's never been a pushy guy. He's become an easy target just because he's new to the team and people who don't like him get to voice about how much of a liability he's become after a couple of games. I sincerely think the concept of Kovalev punishing people is a bit too extreme. He doesn't get himself thrown out every game. I think openly showing the internal problems of the Habs organisation has become quite problematic. Many teams have problems with players not producing as expected however it seems that showing this vulnerability has made it tabloid fodder more than anything.
  23. Evgeni Nabokov is Kazakh but it didn't stop him from competing for Russia in the olympics.
