I was actually thinking the same thing.....Tinordi's game is much more unreliable, because he must be more reliable. With Beaulieu you just expect him to not be as defensively sound and he just makes up for it with offensive flare. Tinordi has none of the flare and still makes mistakes on the defensive side.

I was actually thinking that Bournival would be a decent replacment for Pleks next year. I dont think that getting rid of a much cheaper replacement is good for the future of the club. I guess the question is do we need an upgrade on D more than we need a reliable 2way center.....i just dont think this is the time for that deal. and I wouldn't touch Myers with a yard stick right now. I am sick of reclamation projects, lets just develop the obvious talent we already have in the organization. I think that Markov will be moved before the deadline this year, a team like the Oilers or even Philly could use the leadership on the backend

ya maybe i'll invest in a huge TV this year. I'll have to "accidentally" break my old one. I'm gonna be moving soon so maybe it will slip out of my hands or something...

I'm also very excited that Bergevin has decided to hold on to everyone, I think that by signing Murray it shows MB's reluctance to move prospects for immediate help. (there were rumors of a deal with Vancouver, that no doubt involved one of our top prospects for Defensive help) I am really excited for the next few years....but I just wish Bergevin was around before we lost Ryan McDonagh...

is Clifford Really worth a 25 goal scoring roster player (with a reasonable contract) and a 2nd rounder? i always just thought he was a big plug on the 3rd line. As far as I'm concerned there is no replacement for game experience, and he will play many more games in the OHL. While the Gym time is nice, the kid is already huge and from what I hear he may need to work on his skating and the best way to do that is to skate more. Plus the Hunters will turn him into one mean SOB .....

if Coburn could be had for DD straight up then I'd do it but thats just not going to happen.

this would make the day a win instead of a loss.....Simmonds is exactly what we need. I just took a look at those contracts and they are all very reasonable and long term.....this would be a good deal even if we had to throw in a Pick to make it happen. Defense would look like this... Coburn Subban Markov Emelin Gorges Diaz/Tinordi Coburn reminds me alot of Hamerlik....in a good way also according to cap geek Philly is over the cap right now by 1 million

I like Yandle too but I think Diaz is the same kind of D-man (smallish puck moving).....I would rather us go for some size on D.

there were some Alex Edler rumors before the draft I wonder if the Briere deal is a precursor for that....Plekanec for Edler?

if he only wants a 1 year deal then it wont be so bad....but i just don't see him producing more that DD so why don't we just stay with the guys we have. I also think it is time to split up the DD/Paccioretty combo. Max needs to produce with someone other that DD, it would be interesting to see him on a line centered by galchenyuk. I am drooling over a Paccioretty Galchenyuk McCarron line in a couple of years... what would you guys say to bringing back Saku for a glory lap?

Briere is a terrible idea, please don't do it. We could spend that money on Hendricks and Nystrom and still get some defensive help. That would bump Eller up the lineup.. Paciorette Plecs Bourque galchenyuk Eller Gally Gionta Henricks/Nystrom Prust Moen Henricks/Nystrom white Try to move DD for Defensive help...as Galchenyuk gets better move him to center the first line and bump Plecs down to the third, hopefully in a couple of years some other guys in Hamilton will be ready to move up (collberg, Leblanc, Mike (the Coke Machine) McCarron ) then if there is a piece missing you go after guys like Iginla or Briere, we are just not ready....yet

with McCarron I got the feeling that we had a guy in mind (Mabye Gauthier) but he was taken just before we could get to him, so Timmins went with a higher risk 2nd choice.

I thought he played his role well and was a very responsible option on the 4th line. Also living close to Toronto I've heard many interviews with him over the past couple of seasons and he seems to be a real good guy....the kind of guy you want in your dressing room to bring a group together. I think he will be missed.
