I think that PG will be allowed to make some small changes at the deadline. just dumping of some players for picks. I believe that we are going to have to wait for the draft day to see anything bigger. Probly by then it will no longer be PG in charge, and we will have a completely new direction for the organization. If we get a top five pick expect it to be traded away...

I would think that it is one of these two...remember a couple of years back when Kovalev was around they both had a bad year....i remember thinking that Plekanec's confidence is very fragile. I also think that when things arent going right for him he reverts back to the defensive minded player that he was in the beginning of his career. He just needs to find a rythum (sp), he plays better when he thinks that everyone thinks hes the man...its a hard cycle to break...to play better he needs swager but to get that swager he just needs to play better....hence reverting to his best qualitites as a defensive forward.

now that it appears Eller and DD are able to fill that 2nd center position between the two of them, I think moving pleks would be a smart move.

what do you guys think will be better a lottery pick or Getzlaf and some cap space? (not a derogatory question, i really want to know) I personally think that this is one of the only real opportunities we are going to have to get a big young center that is still cheap (and not locked into a 10 year deal a-la Vinny) I know that a Lottery pick sounds cool but Getzlaf isnt exactly old yet....we have to make a commitment to the youth we already have...ship out some vets (and a lottery pick) for another vet, get some cap space, commit to Subban, Price, Eller, Patches.

wow I really wasnt expecting the kind of response you guys had to my last comment....believe me I am not a redneck and I dont care where the player comes from but, I am from europe myself....but I am emphasizing the need to start playing hardnosed hockey, and I just dont know if I see any of those type of players high in the draft this year (I also dont want to wait 3-4 years for the development time of most prospects). Not to mention I dont know if I really trust our scouting all that much. I know that some of you will say Ovechkin or Forsberg are a prime examples of european power forwards. But my response would be that for every Ovechkin there are 4-5 Semins or Zherdevs. We dont need anymore of these types of players.....plus I am no expert but I've noticed the crop of high end centers looks a little weak after Grigorenko. And unless we really shit the bed I think Columbus is gonna take him 1st overall.

i am more concerned with the lack of a big Canadian Center in the draft....there are a couple of good players, but if we could make a package that looks like Cammy and our 1st to get a guy like Getslaf i would do it in a heart beat. Getslaf would instantly make our entire forward core better, pushes Plecs back to the 2nd C spot he deserves, with Eller in the 3rd C spot. Gio Getslaf Cole Patches Pleks Leblanc Moen Eller Gomez White Niok Darche just assume everyone else is in the forward core is traded for picks...I would even give our 1st and 2nd in this years draft with Cammy to get Getslaf

just tank already.....sell everyone that doesn't fit the rebuilding mold (Cammy, Gio, DD, Moen, Gomez (if you can get any pick its better than 7mil on the 4th line), Kostysin). Get as many picks as you can then get a scouting staff that will pick the right player for our needs (ie. big skilled Fowards/centermen).
