  1. Carbo is to blame for Sammy's poor play in Chicago? Read it here: COMPLETE JOKE! Sammy has nobody to blame but himself. He has a problem following direction. He's un-coachable. Ask any Bruin fan from his days in Boston what a hot and cold unreliable suck he is." Carbo ruined his self esteem ?" Don't make me laugh. Who do you blame for the growth of other players? Komi, Pleks, Higgins, Streit, Huet, etc....... Same coach as last year from where I'm standing. Carbo was patient as balls with Latendresse LAST year AND this year. It's not working for him. Do you blame Carbo or Latendresse? Carbo should be sitting Ryder in the pressbox right now. The guy threatens arbitration every frickkin year because he thinks he deserves 5 million a year. Well, where is that confident 30 goal man now? Carbo would have him sitting in the bleachers it's just that he has nobody to replace him with.
  2. I love the fact that nobody is into Kosto on the 1st. Usually the most unpredictable situation or player comes out and surprises. It's usually the complete opposite of what we are thinking or yearning for. GO KOSTO GO!!!!!!!!!! You all had Lahti pencilled in on the first line, You had Brule as our fifth pick, Huet was just a thrown in with Bonk, Who knows we all might get a real shocker and Koivu might scrap again!!!!!!! WOoooooooooHOooooooooooooo!!!!!! GO KOSTO GO!!!!!!!!
  3. You are correct, my mistake, even less . Still.....because it 's only saving 300 000 of cap space, Is that correct? Doesn't it seem like a kid in a candy store that is a little short for the chocolate bar that he wants? So he's digging through his pockets looking for pennies so he can get it. Or am I just hoping for a big trade? Even if Carbo farts in the dressing room I'll turn it into some sort of sign that a trade is brewing........
  4. According to Spector Murray is being re-called from Hamilton with hopes that someone will pick him up. The Habs would then pay half his salary which would be around 600 000. This would mean 600 000 more dollars off our cap. Hmmmmmmmmm. Seems strange that Gainey would be desperately trying to create a little extra headroom in his purse for no reason. Is Gainey looking to trade for someone that would put us right up against the cap or is it just a spring cleaning type of thing to have a little extra cash when needed?
  5. Wow, that is pretty sad. I love that guy, he deserves more. I wish he would demand a trade to Montreal. I know the stakes would be high but I'd be willing to cough up the farm. Key word in this next sentence is CONSIDER. "I would CONSIDER throwing Price into the deal if it were to come up. We are pretty deep in net, our defensive game is great under which a lot of goalies would flourish. Ovechkin would bring his goal scoring, star power, confidence.....He would change everything in Montreal. There is no other way to get a proven scoring star of Ovechkin caliber on the Habs roster unless we give something up. At least we finally have a few pieces other teams may want. I wish we could have signed Souray only to sweeten the deal with him included......aaaahhhhhwelllllllll
  6. Washington having a tough time re-signing Ovechkin. He wants 9-10 million instead of a Crosby like deal. Hmmmmmmmmm. Maybe he is being difficult because he wants out of Washington. Does Bob go for this higly unlikely trade. What would it take? We all know he was unhappy with washington's inabiity to land super free agents. Same as us but at least we are winning games and have our own little gang of russians for him to bond with. Source...Spector!!!!
  7. Has Saku ever been in All-star? If not I hope he sneaks in. It is a tough ballot at center but if the habs are rolling at the top of the heap come voting time it should help...
  8. It deflected off our defensemans stick. Not defending him it was a bad goal, but that's what he wasn't ready for
  9. You know something we don't? Who's coming back our way?
  10. It's all speculation and I hope he is healthy, but to say he turns ottawa into a contender isn't true. He was supposed to do that for Nashville last year. They were going to be put over the top but they actually got worse. Sometimes glorified players can weaken a team. I don't think Forsberg is the player he used to be. His ankles are screwed. That will change everything. Hard to win a cup when you should be sitting in a wheelchair.
  11. Last year we were great untill January and then fell apart in the most disgusting way, So ya one will sit back and think ....I'm not trusting these guys.....but this is a group of players that are different in work ethic, belief, drive....etc......Kovalev could decide to stop playing at any moment but I feel he is and will feed off the good energy this team will have all season. The one thing we can't forget is how "even" the teams are getting because of the salary cap. No team is absolutley crap this year. From the Laffs to Phoenix they all have some hope. Nashville kind of blows and so does Edmonton at the moment but come April any team can run. This is a product of the Salary cap and I'm thankful we have Gainey and kids who are ready to be passionate....great goaltending, good coach, and a will to get better. It's a new day and age in the NHL. I'm not saying HABS RULE THE WORLD. Well maybe I am ....kind of...... but we seem to have the tools and mind frame to compete, not just salaries and big names on paper,(RANGERS) who by the way will snap out of they're funk. Ottawa and Anaheim were so crap at the start of last year. Big game Saturday KILL THE LEAFS We need one trade that will gel it all together.....................
  12. In certain situations Gainey might. Especially when his hands are tied and he could see it benefiting the Habs. It's not unheard of. I'd trade Halak for Steen in a heartbeat considering where we are at.
  13. Not really... The Thorton deal blew my mind, maybe Bob could steal Steen or Stajan. The only two leafs I could see wearing red white and blue. Lord knows Fergy thinks he can resurrect goaltenders. Not that Halak needs resurrection but he is unproven. That's one brain cell you just might penetrate. BUT.............we have to deal with the consequences. Which would be fine for me. Kordic for courtnall anyone?
  14. Like Simonus I'm between 2 and 3. I don't want to dwell on past shortcomings. Every single year 29 teams have them. SO................ I say Gainey trades for a scoring center and let's go for it. Koivu looks great, Kovalev looks great ( who knows for how much longer? ) Kids look great. With Price and Huet the goal looks great. We need clutch players.......Well, they are usually found at the moment they are needed so we may already have him. I think we could beat any team in a seven game series.....including Ottawa even if they are better for the moment. I don't see any other teams except maybe a couple in the west. Because of the salary cap I find most teams are week somewhere. Ryder and some youth out. scoring center in ,and let's take a ride!!!!!!!!! Detroit will choke, we'll beat Ottawa, Rangers won't make it...LOL, Shit I think Columbus has a chance this year....why not us?
  15. After a few hits on Hartnell there was one where K-Rex dumped him like a ragdoll behind the net and even the announcers were laughing saying "Jeez, Hartnell needs to get a new dance partner" because Komy was working him over. LOVE IT!!!!!!
  16. Bummer. Hopefully he'll be back soon. Gorges looked better against Philly.
  17. That would be even better, Maybe Laps should be included in the deal. He obviously has some problems and I don't think Kovy likes him very much. speculation of course. A possible package could be in the works with Atlanta. Lehtonen and Hedberg are looking really bad. Halak could challenge one of them. What could land us Hossa? or even Kozlov?
  18. For some reason he reminds me of Brian Skrudland. I know there is a lot of talk about Higgins being the future captain but I see chips grabbing the title at the end of the day. He's so calm and solid in his way of just getting it done, while Higgins is more like a tornado, almost like he's trying to hard. Both guys are great, I just feel Chips will rise to the occasion when the time comes.
  19. I say talk Pitts into giving up Malone. Lats-Laps-Malone could turn into a pounding scoring machine.
  20. Someone explain to me how players now can use this extortion tactic when they don't get what they want. I understand the need to make money and all but don't nhl teams protect themselves from this. It just seems like if they don't get to play a regular shift in the NHL they want to go to Russia and usually they make more then they would in the NHL. I'm glad we have been avoiding european players in the draft.......at least canadiens and americans want to stick it through till the end before they bail to europe for hockey. To each his own but this blows. The one good thing is Pittsburgh is interested. That could bite us in the ass because he is better then Fleury and I don't want Armstrong. Maybe Malone but not armstrong. This sucks. Come on BG bail us out of this one. I would be into sweetening the pot for a decent return even if it means adding Ryder and Grabs or someone we don't want to lose. Got to give to get.......
  21. What about rumour floods for ####.......????? Does he have an apartment? What could Halk and #### fetch on the market?
  22. So then let's not talk about it! Let's let this be the last post. If you are really tempted to post, DON'T!!!!!! It's not worth it......................
