  1. WTF is Bourque on the PP? Hell, why is he even in the lineup???
  2. Moen and White back out now with Briere and the Coyotes almost score. Probably true, but make zero sense. They need time to gel. Play Vanek with Pleks and Galchenyuk and move Gionta down with the depth chart.
  3. playing lousy tonight - have to take advantage of this PP!!
  4. i don't get why MT doesn't stack the 3rd line. I figured he wouldn't separate Pleks and Gionta and put Vanek with Pleks and Galchenyuk. Don't see why he wouldn't put Glachenyuk and Briere with Eller, rather than Eller on the 4th line and have the bum Bourque on the Briere line.
  5. do you think DD will actually pass to Vanek? I'd rather split Vanek and Maxpac anyways. Give Pleks a scorer for once and move Gionta down.
  6. I like the top 2 here and it's what I listed yesterday as well, but I'll be surprised if MT splits up pleks and Gionta.
  7. I'm happy as well - but will be happier once Bourque and Gionta are gone in the summer!
  8. I'd take vanek over gaborik in a heart beat.
  9. How is Dubnyk insurance against anything, it's more assurance for losing.
  10. Have to agree. As much as I loathed Gauthier and was pissed at Gainey for his makeover, The Isles seem to be committed to stupidity! How Garth Snow can continue to make stupid moves after stupid moves without losing his job is mind boggling. What a friggin stupid owner!
  11. WOW!!! Was not expecting that! FINALLY a impact move. I was hoping the prospect would be Fucale, as I think Colberg is probably the best one we have that hasn't seen NHL time, but if we can actually resign him, it will be worth it. Vanek-Pleks-Galchenyuk - make it happen MT - no more tinkering!! Gionta-briere-Eller Moen-White-Prust/Weise/Parros/Bourque I really wish we had moved Bourque though.
  12. frankly, i don't even care about the cap implications. Bottom line is that he is a lousy, crappy, useless seive. WTF would we want him???
  13. Seriously????? Wasn't there any worse goalies out there??? Should we really be worried that Price is going to be out longer? But seriously - Dubnyk???? WTF???
  14. unless we are going to be moving GOrges, i don't get this deal.
  15. I think Markov has slowed down, but still has high hockey iQ. I'd be open to moving him or Pleks, but I wouldn't move either for just for picks. If we move either it has to be for a package that includes high impact players like an O'reilley or Kane. Moving either for a 20 to 30 pick doesn't make sense to me. If we can get a first+ for gorges, I'd do that in a heartbeat. I wish MB hadn't been asleep last year when bobby Ryan was available. Markov, Eller in a package for Ryan might have been a possibility.
  16. That's DD, gorges and Moen.Or Eller, gorges and Moen.
  17. I can't see the Pens not picking up a goalie.
  18. I would have loved to get Gaborik 8-9 years ago - seeing a scoring #10 that could skate like the wind and fire the puck brought back a lot off great memories of growing up in the 70's. But given where we are, I don't want a rental that we're fount to mortgage the future for. Great if we can pick up evander Kane or Ryan O'reilley - guys that will become part of our core. Eller+gorges+Moen+Leblanc for Kane and bogosian? Bourque waived? I honestly can think of anyone who would want his lazy ass. Where is Milbury when you need him? Hell, even an idiot like Feaster was smart enough to trade his lazy ass. One guy who MIGHT be interested is Sutter, but u can't see him convincing Lombardi.
  19. I think with the East being weak, we might win a round or two - IF we add some scoring. however, any deal we make should be with the next couple of years in mind. I'd rather pick up a top 4 Dman like Bieksa or Erhoff to take Gorges spot, since they will help us next year, as well as a young scorer like Kane. If Kane gets moved and we miss out on him, like we did on Bobby Ryan, i'll be pissed. Despite their strong record since the coaching change, I think a team like the Jets would be interested in guys like Gorges and Moen.
  20. There is not other option. MT should be open for business on Wednesday. Try and move some quantity for quality. They should move DD while he is producing. move Briere, move Gorges, move Gionta, move Moen and definitely remove the trash like Bourque and Bouillon. The guy I don't want to move is Markov. The tabs made the mistake of trading away, or letting their leadership and experience on the D at the same time in the late 80's/early 90's (Robinson, Green, Ludwig, Chelios) and that really impacted the development of the young dmen. Gorges is the guy I'd move and Markov is the guy I'd hang on to. I can see him being effective 3 years from now. From the forwards we have Moen, White, Prust, Weisse, Parros. That's 5 4th liners and no real skilled wingers for the 3rd line outside of Bournival and Pleks is playing with a washed up Gionta on the 2nd line. We need to pick up at least one top 4 dman to tide us over until Tinordi/Bealieau are ready and 2 more scorers. If we can pick at least one quality D (upgrade on Gorges) and one scorer capable of scoring the 25+ goals that Gionta used to score, we'll be in better shape for the playoffs.
  21. Agree, but that's why he shouldn't have been signed. No way should a team be constructed with Gallagher, Gionta, Briere and DD. I'll take Gallagher over Gionta and if we can move DD, Gorges and Moen for Kane, i'd do that, but now that the Jets have righted the course, they probably aren't as eager to add the leadership that Gorges/Moen would bring, which were the types of players they needed until the coaching change. Issue with Briere and Eller is that neither have looked comfortable as wingers. Having said that, if we don't make a move on WEdnesday, MT NEEDs to try and get them to play together. part of the issue is that he'll play Eller with Bourque for 15 or 20 games, but tends to only experiment with a combo like Eller-Briere for about a period.
