  1. or why are smallest players were the only ones driving to the net.
  2. I really don't get all of the love for the cube. He's been a giveaway machine the last few games.
  3. I'd want to move Gionta in the off season. With bourque and Prust injured already, I also wouldn't want to trade Ryder. I can't see us getting more than a 2nd for him and we'd still need a move to replace him - which would cost assets as well. I wouldn't move Leblanc unless it was for someone like Jagr. He'd not only give us additional size and skill for the playoffs, but he already has existing chemistry with pleks and he could also help to further develop Eller and Gally squared.
  4. Rinaldo - seriously??? Are you sure you aren't a closet bruins or flyers fan?
  5. Who cares. The guy is battling a concussion. We already have lost two guys with a concussion. That alone is a reason to stay clear of him.given that he still has 2 years left at $7m, no way do I want to take a declining asset of philly's hands. We don't need another Gomez situation, when we need to unload Kaberle.
  6. How long ago was Kadri drafted?? He was reprtedly goung to part if a package for luongo before the lockout. how would that deal have looked. Ow. The habs have done a crap job developing players when called up - maxpac didn't even want to be up in Montreal, based on the way Martin was using him. We thoroughly made a mess of Weber. Leblanc has battled injuries, and unless we can get a decent player in return, I don't want to just give him away, without a real look at a healthy Leblanc. Hell, after 5 games this year a lot if people here were ready to give up on Eller and wanted to dump him. He's been one if our best players for the past couple of weeks. I'd be willing to move Leblanc for Clowe, if Clowe was just in a slump. But if he is playing injured as reported, I want nothing to do with him - particularly a shoulder injury which take time to heal.
  7. We really should have signed him. I think a some of the credit for giroux's development should go to Jagr.
  8. Forgot to mention the obvious one. But I think until Price wins a series, there's going to be a lot of people questioning him still
  9. Exactly. If getting Jagr means Prust or bourque is on the 4th line, that's a good thing.
  10. I'm totally against giving up any substantial for a rental - 3rd round pick and b group of prospects (bournvil/leblanc/kristo), in a package IF it means getting a top 4 tough dman, or top 6 forward that is SIGNED for at least two more years. Otherwise only trade a 3rd round pick or expandable parts like Weber, Moen. I wonder if weber, Moen and a 3rd would land Jagr. In Moen the stars would get a guy signed for next year, as well as an offensive dman prospect, who would certainly be picked up if the habs tried to send him down. I know many hear would disagree, but I really think that with a change of scenery, weber can be an effective 2nd pairing dman and PP specialist.
  11. this is is the type of game I hope the MT and the coaching staff learns from. You really have to switch up the lines in a game like this and shorten the bench. The boys tried in the third after napping in the 2nd, but came up short.
  12. Question is, is Komi actually better then Emelin, or is the fact that Markov was a much better player in 2008, that Komi looks like he is better then Emelin. Frankly, I think as a hitter, Emelin much more consistently lays the devastating hit then Komi ever did. Defensively as well, Emelin this year is more sounder then what I remember of Komi.
  13. why is the 4th line out there and why do they get to play with Markov??? We need to roll three lines right now.
  14. Yep. Instead of shooting, DD stops the puck and gives the D a chance to setup. That's the wrong spot to have a non-shooter setup.
  15. don't jinx it!! Again - can't believe I"m not wanting to the jinx the leafs DD needs to shoot more and get a shot of quickly - way too much hanging on and passing from him on this PP!! YEs!!! Ryder!!
  16. I think its a combo of having Armstrong and the defence that are playing with them. When that line is out there, it seems like of the 5 man unit playing, only Eller and Galchenyuk are doing anything. I think MT needs to give them a chance to play more with either Markov or Subban. This is where the loss of Diaz really hurts.
  17. MT really needs to be rolling three lines right now.
  18. well at least the leafs are up by two as well.
  19. Markov carried Komi, just like he carried Souray before him. Defensively, I think Emelin is much sounder then Komi. Emelin doesn't lose his effectiveness if he isn't paired favourably. Komi's effectiveness was dependent on playing with Markov. I also think Tinordi is ahead of wear O'Byrne was. Begin was more of a fireplug, but I like White's physicality and ability when he drop the mitts better then Begin. Begin was willing, but usually took a pounding.
  20. BS penalty to Subban and the habs down and now they are playing way too scrambly. Really need to get a coaches challenge.
  21. the way eller is playing, i really don't get why he isn't out their on the PP. Both Eller and & Galchenyuk have looked great tonight. Give them rally or Maxpac on the PP.
  22. can't believe i'm cheering for the leafs tonight. brings back memories of the days when the nordiques were in the league.
  23. MT really needs to give Eller and Galchenyuk a long look on the PP - especially the way they are playing tonight.
  24. And that's why you need someone with hands playing with eller and Galchenyuk. Armstrong could have buried two tonight. terrible pass by maxpac.
  25. This year has to be the constantly worst refeering i've ever seen. Plays into the hands of teams like the Leafs and Bruins. too bad they didn't move him for Luongo.
