They would be fine, if Pleks was on the hash marks and Subban was with Weber on the point. BUt Martin is more stubborn then a mule.

We have to either get Pleks off the point on the PP or just decline the penalty. and of course he takes a penalty.

Crap - is this reoccuring issue with the cut he took or something new?? I wish the habs would just let guys recover, rather then rushing them back and then have them constantly out. While i'm not averse to having Gomez on the wing, it doesn't make sense to bring him back, if he is not healthy enough to take a faceoff.

Ideally, I'd like to see the habs sign AK46 for up to $4.75M. IMO adding a guy like Leblanc (if he is ready), would finally allow us to drop Darche or Moen from the top 9. I'm really sick of seeing Darche getting PP time or between 12-16 minutes a game.

I agree with your first point. I want to see Emelin play, but I think Weber is being messed up by constantly being shifted between forward and defence. That's what the habs did with Streit, thinking he was too small to be an effective dman, outside of the PP. I don't see why with the proper coaching/oppertunity, Weber can't be as effective as a Brian Rafalski. I'd much rather have Martin rotate Gill, Spacek and Diaz and give more of an oppertunity to Weber and Emelin.

I think they could have signed him for $4M last summer - a blunder in my opinion of not locking him up. They may be able to sign him for closer to $4.5M IF and ONLY if, PG gets off this absurd policy of not negotiating during the year. If I'm PG, I'd start negotiating now, and lock him up by before the new year. The longer he waits, the more the price goes up and once you get past the trade deadline, AK46 will want to test free agency. If he does go to free agency, he is gone. It will cost at least $4.5M to sign him, but IMO, the habs will make another dumb move and trade him for a lousy return or lose him for nothing over the summer.

Trading Ak46 for a 2nd round pick, IMO would be stupidity. How many second rounders have the habs drafted that are consistent 20 + goal scorers. IMO, AK46 WILL score 30+ as soon as he gets out of Montreal and plays for a coach who appreciates him. I don't think Palushaj or Leblanc are going to replace Ak46's physical play. Maybe they will turn out to come close to his production in another 2 years, but the only physical offensive threats the habs have are Ak46, Cole and MaxPac. I'd rather add to that then subtract.

Frankly, I would have preferred the habs offered him the deal Cole got. I'd much rather have AK46 at his age on a 4 year deal then Cole. Having said that, i do believe they probably could have locked him up for 4 years for $4M. Now if he exceeds Cole's totals this year, he is going to be looking for $4.5M + to stay. However, frankly, I don't think Martin likes him, so he probably won't be retained.

I think the sabres wil come out to prove after that debacle with Lucic, Having said that, with White injured, I think the habs response would probably have been even weaker then the Sabres response. I also think Lucic should get suspended for an intent to injure and that there should have been an intent to injure penalty. But even with a new sheriff in town, there's zero chance of that of that happening. It does piss me of that punks like Lucic constantly take cheap shots, without ever getting disciplinary action, so they retain their squeaky clean records. Remember the playoff series a few years back when both Lucic and Chara targeted Komi. BOth of them pretty much took Komi down from behind and started beating on him, but neither was disciplined by the useless piece of crap Colin Campbell.

Souray is probably a month away from his usual shoulder/wrist injuries. We have enough bad luck with injuries.
