  1. Looking at it from the bright sight: Pat Traverse has NHL experience and will probably get the leauge minimum. He's also familiar with the team and the city and knows exactly what's comming. Traverse is also a perfect "throw-in" player in a trade if the other team is having the same problem as the Habs: Too few left defencemen. I don't expect Traverse to play more than a few games and maybe he will be a leader for the younger guys on the farm.
  2. I know... I didn't include Bulis and Kesler at first. But they won't leave anyway.
  3. ... It's speculative. So how should Vancouver fix this problem as they are allready near the cap? They have to get someone cheap or make a salary dump. They might sign Scott Hartnell, but the rumor is that they seek a trade. And if they want a top line right winger they have to pay the price. I think it would be stupid to let any of the "stars" go. The Sedins, Näslund, Salo, Morrison, Öhlund, Bulis, Kesler and Luongo won't leave. Or where does it not make sense?
  4. The Canucks are short on every position but they barely have any right wingers at all. Tyler Bouck being the only one. Bulis will probably play at the right wing if he's going to play with the Sedins and Matt Cooke would be the one changing side if he's going to play with Näslund and Morrison. But then there are no more forwards left in Vancouver. But they do have a full set of defencemen. Canucks team right now: Left Wing Näslund Pyatt Burrows Sedin Green Center Morrison Linden Sedin Kesler Cooke Chouinard Bulis Rypien Right Wing Bouck Defence Öhlund Salo Krajicek Bieksa Mitchell Tremblay Fitzpatrick And what do they have in the system? Jozef Balej...
  5. I tried the Ancor Steam Beer last night. Interesting stuff...
  6. I touched the subject in the Rumour thread. The Canucks are seeking a rightwinger as the only have two right now. Nucks have two interesting defencemen. Luc Bourdon and Kevin Bieksa. Bourdon might be the better of the two but Bieksa might be better suited for the Habs as he's a defensive defenceman.
  7. As we get the series in Europe AFTER the Americans we only get the good ones. I don't watch series on TV, but on DVD, since I'm to inpatience to wait a whole week for another 25 minutes with The Simpsons the only exeption. I've just completed watching Sex and the City and I have to say it's easily one of the better series. But the all time favourites are Six Feet Under and M*A*S*H.
  8. I agree with a lot in the article. To bad it had no credibillity since they first claim Cristball Huet is a "hometown favourite" and second mix Patrik and Niklas Sundström...
  9. The Canucks are in the market for a right winger. Maybe the Habs could use the situation... Latendresse, Kostitsyn and Perezhogin are all right wingers and in my book Perezhogin won't bring anything to the table that the Habs allready got. Perezhogin is a good player but if both teams could benefit from a deal then it's worth concider. One should also have in mind that the Nucks have to make a deal to get a full roster. Perezhogin and a pick for Luc Bourdon or Perezhogin for Kevin Bieksa?
  10. No link... Sundström was sent of in his first game in Sweden when MoDo met the local rival. Found it... Patrik. I think I agree what's written.
  11. ch_nl It started when I signed up for the Hotmail service in 1995. They didn't allow "." back then and I initialy wanted my name with a period. christoffer.enell@hotmail.com So I had to swith the "." into a underscore so it would look like christoffer_enell@hotmail.com But that was too many letters so i tightened it down to ch_enell@hotmail.com I didin't liked the look of it so I made my last name to "nl" and if you read the letters one by one you get my last name. N=[en] L=[ell]. Now I use it everywhere and it's not like anyone else have it even if there's a 14 years old girl in Holland that goes by the name "Chanell" and have misspelled her email on a Kids community so I get a lot of 15 years old boys asking for dates.
  12. Dark Horse season. If the Canadiens can continue from where they finnished last season I think the Habs can go all the way. Johnson and Samsonov adds a new dimension to the team and the young guns should be a season better. I think the Habs will make the playoffs and once there, anything could happen.
  13. Malkin! Difference between Malkin and Ovechkin: Ovechking had proved himself and in the NHL. But in Europe there's people arguing that Evgeni Malkin is the better of the two. Malkin is more of a playmaker and I don't know how he will work with Sidney Crosby as they might be too similar. And in Sweden we have Niclas Bäckström. He's getting better and better by the day and when set up with Oveckink in a year or two Pittsburgh and Washington will both have a Super-duo.
  14. Samsonov - Ribeiro - Kovalev (All offensive) Higgins - Koivu - Ryder (Balanced) Latendresse - Plekanec - Johnson (Combo) Begin - Bonk - Perezhogin (Tight)
  15. What have I missed? When did the Habs get a lot of prospects that could use Rivet's ice time? Rivet may be overpaid but from what I've heard he's a voice in the locker room. He has also developed every year, and quiet a bit since Brisebois left. With the salaray cap I don't think Rivet would get us anything in return but another overpaid player so why waste a leader for that?
  16. Are we talking about Superstars or Legends? Roy and Lafleur are both Legends. Chris Chelios is a superstar just like Alex Kovalev. Koivu? Semi-Star? Mats Näslund? Star. I don't think the Habs needs a "Superstar" to win the cup. We need a team that gives it all and where everybody has a role and a purpose. Right now, I think we're there. I have allready bet on the Canadiens winning the Stanley Cup. And for the first time ever as a Habs fan I do think that there's a chance even if it's a small one.
  17. It's kind of cool to see that people from all over the world has so many different opinions on beer. I've read that Germany makes the best beer in the world. I couldn't agree less. Czech Republic is in a division of their own. I haven't tried even half of all the American labels suggested in this thread but my absolute favourite American been is the Samuel Adams Boston Lager. I also find it odd that the people from Holland prefers Hoegarden over their own Grolsch. Brooklyn Lager is also rather good while Miller is like having sex in a canute... The Best Beer of The World: 1. Pilsner Urquell, Czech Republic 2. Staropramen Granat, Czech Republic 3. Grolsch, Holland 4. Warsteiner, Germany 5. Breznak, Czech Republic 6. Singha, Thailand 7. Jever, Germany 8. Zlatopramen, Czech Republic 9. Samuel Adams Boston Lager, USA 10. Cobra, India
  18. It was a headline on todays news in Sweden as well. I had hopes that the next big thing from Montreal would be the Habs winning the Stanley Cup.
  19. What are they thinking?!?! There's a proverb in Swedish that goes something like this: What differs the smart from the dumb is that the smart learns from his misstakes and have the abillity to think different today from tomorrow. Yasin and DiPietro - The team, the duo, the oldtimers.

    Vodka

A whole thread about vodka and no one hasn't even mentioned the Swedish contribution. Absolute Vodka. It's the best. I don't know how it is in North America but the only vodka from Russia that's up for sales here in Sweden is Stolchinaya. Finlandia is also rather good.
  21. I know nothing. But I wish there was some legal ways for me as a Swedish Montreal Canadiens fan to watch games via the Internet as the technique is available. To me it's a mystery why the NHL hasn't done anything about it since Im here and willing to pay for games I want to see.
  22. Milan Bartovic, Chicago Blackhawks will join Malmö in Swedish Elitserien. He played 24 games last season and took part in the World Championships for Slovakia. Bartovic is young (24) and I don't know why the Hawks gave up on him so soon.
  23. Jan Hrdina to Sweden and HV71. http://www.hv71.se/nyhet.asp?sid=1160
  24. I meant the other way around... Lidström does give some but never receives. His style of playing will make his body competitive for years. That's was my point.
  25. I would place Spezza there as well, but I'll have doubts in the Sens as a team. I had high hopes for them last season and they played great from season start to playoff begun. But things have to change for them if they want to go deep in the playoffs. I don't know how or if they will make a change as I don't follow them close enough but my guess is that they will change their strategy some and therfore not be the powerhouse. I think Spezza would be top 20 on everybodys list tough...
