  1. I'm with you 100% on this. Mr G has put a pretty darned good group together here and fortunes can turn pretty quickly. I am MUCH happier than last year and believe that the team has been very well managed since day one of uncle Bob's arrival. This is not to say that errors did not occur or that all gambles , like losing Souray for nothing because we needed him to have any hope, were surefire successes. Nothing in life is like that and I greatly admire the excellent team he put together for a run two years ago, and yet he still managed to have a dynamic and interesting team. Montreal wants a winner, but when you go for it, you leave youreself weaker for the next year; especially in a cap environment. I plan to enjoy a lot of exciting hockey from this team as I have already this year, and this slump , while unsettling, is no big deal. Martin seems to do a pretty good job of putting out a team that isn't perfect but which has come from behind a lot in the third. Go Habs GO!
  2. Exactomundo. I am really glad I missed this stinker today, but shlitz happens every now and then. I'm not thrilled but neither am I particularly concerned.
  3. Looks like it will be tough to rise up and take this game. Ottawa seems pretty on the ball. However, this team has won a lot of games when it didn't look at all good. Weasel see.
  4. I knew what you were saying and agree; I was just enjoying the phenomenal efficiency and competence before tonight. :-)
  5. That'll make it tough to get the other 44%, eh?
  6. I was just about to write what a treat it is to have such a hotshot powerplay after reading how Alfie won't be what its all about as the commentator compliments Alfie for the job he did.....and we score. I can't keep up. I can't type fast enough!
  7. I once had a support that others found offensive.
  8. 3 quick ones and the Stars are back in it....
  9. What the hell kind of goal was THAT!!??
  10. That must have taken a lot of courage....or dope...?
  11. I knew that would scare you. It even sent a chill down my spine! Whew!
  12. hey Habsy...it could be worse... I could comment more often!
  13. I gionta agree that I enjoy watching Gomez go. He's fast and talented and a terrific play maker. Much as I admired and admire Saku and really appreciated Kovy in all his particularity, I am very happy with the team we have before us today. When, and we will, we have two scoring lines flying, we will be a handful and more for anyone. Check out that powerplay and PK. I don't know that uncle Bob (sorry about that to folks who don't like "uncle Bob', but this is my thread and I do like calling uncle Bob uncle Bob) doesn't have to pay a premium .... a lot one year ago for the very reasonable taxes in Canada and Quebec which should be higher but for the jungle to the south. And some guys like it hot, a la Tampa. I often explain to my American friends that to understand what a Canadian is, think of an American, only tougher and smarter. This has increased my popularity immensely. I am not going to fret aout two years from now, just as I didn't when we kept Souray for a strong finish a couple of years ago. Mr G is no dummy and players' agents who sit opposiite him know they are dealing with a straight shooting standup guy. Paying Gomez too much was probably done advisedly by someone who knows the score and what had to be done, how quickly. Now, risking further alienation.... In Bob I Trust. I am really looking forward to the second half. Cheers
  14. Good comments I think CC. Gomez certainly caught my eye out there, and there's no question but that we have a bon fide #1 line. I was very impressed with the team tonight and think that Martin is behind more than a couple of come from behind efforts this year. Notwithstanding legitimate points critical of the team , cap issues etc. I am very pleased with the hockey my team is playing. I'm glad I don't hve to decide what to do with Halak and Price....
  15. Gorgeous goal and a great game. I'd of course love the point, but I have no complaints at all about our team here.
  16. I am thinking more of the control they were exercising a few minutes ago and their passing was pretty good for this time, but you're right. And a right winger would be nice.
  17. I take my hat off to the guys. They dominated the little devils completely shift after shift. Very impressive.
  18. I continue to be impressed with the intensity, control and passing we are demonstrating.
