  1. Yup. I was impressed with the whole team in this period, with the exception of one small goal. Such is life.
  2. What a terrific looking powerplay; the mobility and passing and shots were excellent. Beautiful.
  3. I don't have the competence to add much of anything to the interesting discussion , but I do want to thank you guys for such interesting considerations . I tend to see our glass as very much half full, not half empty, and come to think of it I rather think we're at least 3/4 full at this point. The myriad discussions and minutiae, including historic tax burdens Bob must contend with in competition for players; especially given the US indifference to social justice, just reinforces for me how incredibly difficult the Mtl mgr's job is. He must contend and keep hope alive every year. He must progress and renew, attract, judge and trade in a bowl circumscribed by a cap. God bless this New Year for all of you and especially, the gang whose balls and our hopes are on the line with every act, uncle Bob et co. Cheers
  4. I'd have to agree. Uncle Bob is a very thoughtful man who years ago said that he wanted to build a team that could compete now and for the next ten years. He made the moves to give us a shot at the cup when the chance was there and made the moves to go forward after injuries in particular ended that dream' a dream that had a cost to realize. We're showing some pretty good stuff on ice these days and is it not possible that Kovy who I loved and others are not having stellar years in part because they aren't with Bob Gainey this year? He had a pretty good influence on the players. While I'm no comparative judge in the matter, it seems that Havoc and Pluck are pretty good examples of internal development as well.
  5. What a cool idea. Unfortunately, I'll be in Orlando for golf from Jan 5th for a week. Sweet idea though and thanks for the thought.
  6. I too have seen us win when we should not have , but we should remind ourselves how tough it is to keep up intensity with a two goal lead in the first minutes, while the other guys hit the panic and play button. Let's not be too hard on them for being normal. Who among us didn't feel just great after two quick ones. So did they. Which Leafer for Life didn't feel desperate? I thought we did pretty well for much of the game , given this inevitable dynamic. I've also seen us turn it on. Great shot from AK and as someone else already mentionned SK and AK can get pretty creative. Thank God we didn't lose. I HATE losing to the Leafs. To them it's a rivalry. To me its the ultimate embarassment. Thankyou Habs!
  7. True, but we dominated and took it to them after the initial leaf heat and got up by two, a proverbially deadly lead to get early. I still think we are going to win it.
  8. Unfortunately its just normal with a two goal lead to not be nuts to score, while the other guys are desparate to get that first one. Human nature and quite reasonable ...unfortunately .
  9. Super play by SK and a super save by our pal Hal
  10. What a hell of a save. Ya baby. Pleks and Halak are making our player development look not so bad this year.
  11. heheheh. Good quick play from the brothers
  12. That was more of a caress than a slash... Halak is looking great
  13. Pretty hard to complain about this brand of hockey. Look at the job SK, our litle headcase of a couple of months ago , is doing on the PK.
  14. Sometimes you're the windshield; sometimes you're the bug. I'll take the points!
  15. What a joy to have Markov back. Thank God his tendon injury, like Lang's wasn't the end of the road for their careers.
