  1. The thought of being able to acquire Kane at a reduced cost than before sounds very enticing, but it is hard to put together a trade that makes sense for both teams. Unless they would take Desharnais/Eller + prospect/pick, not much else makes much sense for us.
  2. This is exactly how I feel on the subject, our whole is greater than the sum of our parts....or whatever that saying is. The team is successful and it really does not matter who scores how many goals and how often. I would take a 1-0 win each and every game if that's what it takes. One of my pet peeves is when people complain about a second or third liner for not being a consistent scorer. Well if they were a consistent scorer they would be a first line player. I'm totally fine with guys like Eller and Gally going through goal droughts as long as the team is winning and they are contributing in other ways. Plus you know they will eventually go on a hot streak.
  3. Is he overvalued though? No he doesn't put up the points that perhaps a good scorer does, but surely his intangibles are off the charts. I have been watching him for a couple years now and each and every game I am amazed at how hard he competes. Even at the end of the game last night he went right after Myers, the kid has no fear.
  4. Haha yes of course, those tasty glasses of sunshine. I don't think upgrading one RW spot is the long term solution. We need an additional top end player to come in, maybe for some picks/prospects or through free agency. Gallagher has a decent cap hit and will fit in nicely on one of the top two lines down the road. Players like Gallagher aren't very common these days, regardless of his height handicap and I would absolutely hate to see him go.
  5. I think it's a little early in the day to be drunk
  6. I was only able to watch the third period and all I seen was domination by the Habs. It's a shame they weren't able to bury one
  7. You rally your troops and I will rally mine. Eventually the scoring system will change to something and I think mostly everyone can agree the current one needs to change.
  8. The month of February consists of 11 out of 14 games versus non playoff opponents. Just throwing that out there
  9. I like the Iginla idea but not the Emelin being involved one
  10. My proposal is 3 wins for a win in regulation, 2 for a win in ot/shootout and 1 for ot/shootout loss. Teams go for the win in regulation and also really separates teams that hold on for the extra frame. Anyway, different opinions, all good.
  11. I have high expectations for JDLR with the big club eventually. I think his game is well suited for the NHL and should make the transition fairly easy.
  12. I don't care what system is in place as long as each game awards the same amount of points. It makes zero sense for one game to hand out 2 points to a team and another to hand out 3.
  13. Hard to imagine the Caps trading Green while getting geared up for the playoffs but stranger things have happened I guess.
  14. Just how we drew it up again, Price gets a shutout and Patches scores the only goal
  15. O'Reilly to Edmonton for Yakupov would be beneficial for both clubs I think
  16. Come on now, Marchand only punched Sedin in the face a half dozen times with the ref looking right at it two feet away
  17. I unfortunately have to go to hockey and will have to record the third period. Should be a good finish, very tight game
  18. Okay great so we agree the Habs are bigger and younger like I said, contrary to your original post saying the Rangers were younger and bigger.
  19. You forgot Zucarrello and st.louis. I dont even know how you are arguing against a fact but here we are.
  20. okay as long as you say they are bigger, we will just disregard facts. I shouldn't be surprised though
  21. Actually Montreal is younger, taller and heavier, but nice try
  22. I have mentioned in the past about the difference having Price in net instead of Tokarski against the Rangers. Except for the obvious reason that Price is all around better, he can handle the puck and start the breakout from our zone. Against the aggressive fore checking Rangers, this has been a problem dating back to the playoff series last season and the game this year when we got thumped with Tokarski in. That part of the game is very undervalued in determining the outcome in my opinion. Just wait and see the difference in the flow of tonight's game compared to the other recent ones. And yes, both clubs are very similar in how they are built and how they play.
