  1. But right now Lernout is a thin 6'4" 19 year old kid, but I love that Lefebvre had him playing PP and PK in his 6 games at end of year (but of course Bulldogs were very very thin on d at the time, but he held his own). And was good of him to basically give up fighting for last half of year and be a good weapon on the PP.
  2. Am sure are lots of arrogant a-holes in the NHL, but they are still paid millions, because they can really play hockey well. They haven't scrimmaged any yet? Seems updated sizes are now posted; Artturi has reached 6'0", but at 174lbs never be a power forward. Bozon 207lb, great to see him come back so far, he was rail thin after coma. Thrower 212lb, Dietz 213, Lernout 210 and Bennett shrunk a bit 194lb (will never be big dude but can skate, make or break year for him) CH is 5'10" 191lb Gregoire 6'0" 193lb
  3. Might Gilbert's contract be as much salary as Hawks could be willing to take back and perhaps trade Gilbert, Prospect X, pick Y for Sharp? Would Sharp fit by simply removing the $2.8m of Gilbert? Sounds like Hawks want/need to clear tons of cash still and maybe want to take zero $ back?
  4. Good! Because some of other moves new management are making seem to be smart.
  5. Whaaat, you don't think it is totally coincidental they are related and end up in same organization? Sort of like PG Cougars GM, has one son, Jansen Harkins, on his team and then he just drafted his other son.
  6. Yes, but maybe has nothing to do with not attending this camp? But was healthy scratch in the Q I think for swelled headitis.
  7. Yes a bit surprising but maybe playing waiting game and has several interested parties all with low ball offers?
  8. Yes, he is (I think) a super 1st pass guy and he said he prides himself on that, so he will get puck up ice quicker as will Beaulieu and 'should' lead to more scoring chances than if Murray, Gorges, Gilbert, Emelin was trying to move puck out of zone. But if he can score 10+goals with some being on the PP, then all is good.
  9. You will get your wish, have no fear sir, he will not be signed and Sharp will be. Just spitballin what if's.
  10. No, don't agree. He is as negative as he can get, AK46 was 6th in forward icetime last year as a Habs...so a top six forward, not 3rd liner...etc But, he may be very wise don't dispute that, just bit off on fallout-boy critique. But I have had a few drinks this afternoon so. mostly just be argumentative and do feel a low salary/1 year deal might be low-risk? Wont happen as dlbalr already noted, he is still unsigned, so no matter what that old coach said about his play this year, he may be toast as far as NHL is concerned?
  11. Beaulieu played 20 to 25 minutes/game in mid-Feb for 5 games, was a + player and scored his only goal. And hopefully he has trained hard this summer and will be a bit stronger and confident come Oct. If injury happens he may do very well with increased workload?
  12. He could score 30g and some would still hate him, you know that; would hear "yah..but he did dick-all in 30 games" or some such foolishness.
  13. The clumsy oaf Kostitsyn could really shot a puck well and agree with Joe, seems bout right.
  14. Maybe is why Galchenyuk contract discussion is on hold at moment... Bergevin has made the trip over to Belorussia?
  15. One critique when Oil traded Petry was that (by Oiler blogger), he has a nice shot but refuses to use it often enough (but he same shots/gm with Oil as Markov had last year). With Habs he had 5g on 50 shots, which is awesome shooting%; but can he do that (or close to that) for full year? (off in left field, I see Yannick Weber had 11g for 9.4% shooting for Canucks, if Petry could match that, it would be sweet!)
  16. More curious how Gregoire, Lehkonen, Scherbak, Vejdemo look, than the try-outs do (assume all are highly unlikely to amount to anything). Does Lehkonen still look like a 12 year old?
  17. And we all like Petry & Beaulieu offensive "potential", but between them they average 6g/82gms. So if Markov's production isn't there or drops off; we gotta pray Petry &/or Beaulieu starts burying a few more frickin pucks. Or maybe Pateryn's big shot will be the offensive weapon to put on the PP point?
  18. 29lbs heavier than last year. Well, we all know what Pacioretty did once he filled out and at that size Scherbak will be less likely to get run over as a young pro or pushed off puck as Beaulieu has been, who needs to add strength and bit more mass wouldn't hurt him neither.
  19. Come on, Scott had total of 7g in 4 years at university and still made it to play 274 NHL games (and score a whooping 5g).
  20. Don't worry, I would guess very very unlikely Bergevin will give him a call. But, is an 'interesting' option (and is little going on at the moment Big Bird) and like I say again the reaction would be off the charts by some Anti-AK46ites. Habs simply need more goals and unlikely Kassian will light it up a whole lot more than Paranteau did.
  21. John Scott is a big boy also; but cant play hockey at NHL level. Lets hope McCarron's freakish size isn't his best asset and he actually can (given time of course) skate and shoot at pro tempo. No Montreal locals on here who attend these camps?
  22. Leaf blogger has him listed as cheap free agent option. Noting he would be interested in 1 yr low cap hit salary just to get back. (true? or bit of fantasy?) With without Kovalev he averaged 21.1goals/82games in NHL, 13g/yr in KHL. And seems, like I said before, are many who hate him for not meeting their own lofty perception of what he should be. Do people care how Kessel got his 25-35 goals for $8m/yr and that did nothing in 40-50 games. So if AK46 gets 15+g for $1-2m, would be good value wouldn't it be? .
  23. Yes I know many (and I) who did stupid immature stuff in early-mid 20s. But if he came back, it would be a hoot to see crazy over the top reaction from some who constantly love to use hindsight drafting and hate him because he was chosen at 10th.
  24. So a guy with 400NHL games 205lb, 30 year old RW who averages 21.2g & 45.7pts/year. What is that worth in today's market? What is with the drunk bit, are you insinuating he is an alcoholic? Well even better then, considering his production and if get him in rehab, he could be a 30g 55pts RWer?
