  1. I though I was under by $2M I’ll do the math later Lehks is an RFA, so he does not walk like an UFA (my mistake) but is traded. He is an energy bottom 6 winger with limited production. At $2.5-$3M he will be overpaid He is valuable on any team, but a dime a dozen Out of Lehks and Armia, a player like Armia has more value despite being more injury prone
  2. Here is what I mashed together: UFAs: Corey Perry (re-signs, $1M) Joel Armia (re-signs, or similar player signed, $3M) Philip Danault (re-signs, $5.5M) Eric Staal (walks) Tomas Tatar (walks) John Merrill (walks) Erik Gustafsson (re-signs, $2.5M (heavy on bonuses) Michael Frolik (walks) Jordan Weal (signed in KHL) Alex Belzile (AHL contract) Gustav Olafsson (walks) Charlie Lindgren (walks, or ECHL/AHL contract if he accepts) RFAs (* arbitration eligible): Artturi Lehkonen* (walks) Jesperi Kotkaniemi(re-signs, $3M) Joseph Blandisi* (AHL or walks) Michael Pezzetta (walks) Ryan Poehling (resigned, similar contract to now) Jacob Lucchini* (AHL or walks) Otto Leskinen* (signed in Europe) Cale Fleury (NHL league minimum) Michael McNiven* (AHL/NHL two-way , similar to now) I am still going with Weber being exposed and going unclaimed; and for Gustafson playing on Weber's left until Romanov or another LD wins that spot (With Romanov it may not take long)
  3. I am confident that the Habs will prove many wrong in believing they are merely a bubble team, as confident as I am that some posters in this forums are trolls
  4. my pleasure. We are coming onto lots of activity, and it is always nice to have source material instead of someone quoting someone quoting someone...
  5. I missed watching these live and thought i may not be alone. Here are the links to the media scrums for the Habs after the 2020-2021 Stanley Cup run: Players: https://www.nhl.com/canadiens/news/end-of-season-media-availability-the-players/c-325617354 Coach and GM: https://www.nhl.com/canadiens/news/end-of-season-media-availability-ducharme--bergevin/c-325622600
  6. He will stay until he wins the cup IMHO
  7. Yeah, for all these reasons let’s lay off from the heart and soul of the team
  8. Gallagher’s contract takes into account how he was underpaid before MB said he wanted to make him the best paid forward and he did so, yeah, of course the numbers are what they are Back off from Gally
  9. It makes the most sense from the asset management point of view. He is not getting traded, or unsigned. It’s hockey business
  10. Ha Ha Ha, dumb auto correct D-a-n-a-u-l-t LOL🤣
  11. I am hopeful, I tend to root for lost causes and I hope he comes back
  12. A7th D, a failed 1st rounder, the second 1st round pick on a year where it is a crapshoot to pick and a player with serious personal issues ? I’ll make that trade in a second
  13. I will be shocked if Da silt is not resigned ( Selke runner up, excellent on FOs, excellent defending againsts any team’s best line, capable of 50 points I will be surprised if Drouin is not give a good chance to comeback with the team. Local boy, 69-70 point guy, gods speed and hockey IQ. Excellent (overpaid) if third liner, good 2nd liner if he is focused on hockey
  14. If he wants to play, then he plays with Suzuki and Caufield. Toffoli on Danault’s line with Gally and Anderson on the power forward line with KK and Armia
  15. LITR him like Kutcherov and keep him off the cap it doesn’t cost much to do that , and he could be more valuable to the Habs than anything they get in a trade
  16. I didn’t know it was 2022. I’ll have to rethink my arguments Thanks for sharing that.
  17. If a player like Fabro is signed, it would open the door for a blockbuster trade to improve the team. MB would have lots of options to trade, UFAs to pursue Sending Weber to Nashville to finish his career there , or to Seattle, could work to the Habs advantage A core D of Edmundson-Petry and Chiarot with a third pair of Romanov-Fabro would be really good. With the prospects coming up, D would be set
  18. I may be remembering it wrong g but it seems that you argued: That we should t trade Tatar because he was our best scorer Then we should not sign Edmundson because he was just a shut down defenseman Now Weber must be protected because we may not have a replacement How are the Habs suppose to build a cup contender if we fall in love without our “past best before date” players Many have complained in how Weber is declining fast. Hamilton may not sign here, but also Weber may not be picked by Seattle . Percentage of either happening? In the 40% to 60% range Hamilton is the only UFA that is interesting And here are ten RFAs that met be targeted with an offer sheet or traded for: Makar, Quinn Hughes, Pionk, Heiskanen, Rasmus Dahlin, Dunn, Hronek, Gustav Forsling, Christian Djoos, Dante Fabbro, Djoos so, yes, I stand by what I said ( and sorry if I think you were reluctant on those changes before and I am wrong)
  19. Then that makes it easier to do. Weber has been a great captain, but the injuries and how his play style needs him to take time off to heal and rest, makes him a prime target to be left open Petry, Edmundson and Chiarot can take top minutes. A Dougie Hamilton would be a good upgrade on Weber for the team needs Suzuki would be a great captain Kotkaniemi has not shown he is better than 3rdline center, so resign Danault and both Lehkonen and Armia. Drouin can be LTIR for the season to clear cap space. This gives: Anderson-Suzuki-Caufield Toffoli-Danault-Gallagher Armia-Kotkaniemi-Lehkonen(Ylonen) Vejdemo-Evans-Byron [*]Drouin-KK-Armia[*if Drouin plays] Edmundson-Petry Chiarot-Hamilton Romanov-Kulak(Fleury) Price Allen
  20. Richardson could not win against TBL and although I like him I would not put him above Dom
  21. IMHO his offer sheet would be in the range costing a first and third round pick and he is a RD: $4,110,733 - $6,166,096 A better fit for the Habs
  22. Makar is not the best offer sheet candidate. Dante Fabro is the perfect candidate for an offer sheet
  23. I agree. Bergevin still doesn’t get the respect in this forum he deserves. He knew the team he has built and fired the coaches that he thought he needed to fire to get the team to perform like this He also was right on how he managed the cap. I think he knows his team well and will prune it into shape to _BECOME_ a cup contender
  24. 100% agree that is why I was floating the ideas of developing Romanov into that type of player I’ve had it with puck moving defensemen with no finish . Habs do not have a play hinging on that capability and most times when someone like Petry brings the puck into the Ozone the others seem to be scrambling to react
