  1. Not a big deal, good. Then I am hoping they hire J. Bouchard to head a new ECHL team and to be groomed from there to later become the AHL GM
  2. I was asking the question of a more structured program like the hockey schools would make sense so yes, it counts
  3. Hey, Inhadnt checked but a new ECHL in Blainville would fit in the North Division of the ECHL
  4. Yes, for hockey but also for junior players that may or may not sign with the CH later Maybe moving the team to the ECHL to replace Brampton ?
  5. I heard yesterday on french radio that the Armada is rumored to be up for sale and that Joel Bouchard has alsmost been hired by the CH. It got me thinking that there may be an opportunity to create an soccer-like farming system with Boisbriand-Laval being the farm clubs and also serving in the greater Montreal region as an academy system: expanding in some of the coaching clinics and other activities they already do. It would be a great way to mak esure all the best Quebec talent grows up through their system What do you think?
  6. Ok, I've strucked out on that proposal for RNH or ROR. But I would overpay for D.Strome and draft Zadina or Tkachuk which with Scherbak gives us a couple of top-6 options for a top 6 winger I would keep Patches. So our top 9 would be: Pacioretty, Strome, Lehkonen, Scherbak, Drouin, Gallagher, Byron, Danault, A.Shawn And if we get Tavares, it would become: Pacioretty, Tavares, Drouin Scherbak, Strome, Gallagher, Lehkonen,, Danault, A.Shawn
  7. Then the CH shouldn't sign him. They need to put together a cup contending team where Pleks is not good enough to play 3C I prefer Danault as 3C instead of Pleks
  8. I would expect Pelks to be coming back as a 4C. We need a real 1C and I would give Drouin a chance to develop at center unless we make another trade. I would even play Danault at 2C and Drouin at 3C for some time until he earns back the 2C.
  9. Ok, then I would trade down with them swapping 1st in 2018 and sending back Petry and a borderline D like Rielly/Lernout for their 1st and RNH. They are looking for a top D and Nurse/Petry could work. Rielly or Lernout would also solidify a bottom 4 spot for them. With th edraft pick they could get a solid D prospect For the CH, it would get us our our 1C, and it would bring us closer to Veleno as a goos 2C prospect with upside
  10. Edmonton would get an elite LW to play with McDavid. With the right pieces added (a potential 2LW between Rielly, Alzner, or both Lernout and Parisi) , I think it makes sense for Edmonton. Buffalo would get another of our captains, a change for both players would be good. I think it would ========================================== That being said, I would be careful not deplete too much the CH's D-depth. It will take a miracle to bring the defense up a couple of notches. For starters, I would limit myself to signing one of these UFAs: De Haan(NYI) or I.Cole(CBJ) or Hickey(NYI). To add to our D-core of: Weber, Petry, Juulsen, Alzner, Mete, Rielly My focus would be to hire the right NHL assistant coach to improve how the NHL Ds perform. I would then hire the best coaching staff possible to develop our D prospects above expectations: Lernout, Brook, Fleury, Walford, Koberstein, Staum I want to hear praises on how great or Ds are, like we hear from the work J. Martin has don ein Pittsburgh or I. Laperriere has done in Philadelphia or L. Robinson a few years back
  11. I agree. Last week I was looking at different scenarios (some I posted didn't make sense). But now that I had the chance to read some of the comments on the forum and to think a bit more: here is what I would do: Option 1: Trade Galcheynuk & DelaRose to Arizona for D.Strome Option 2: Package Pacioretty with picks and non-NHL prospects to either Buffalo (for O’Reilly) or Edmonton ( for Nugent-Hopkins) That would give us a top 9 of: Pacioretty-or-Galchenyuk, Strome/ROR/RNH, Lehkonen, Scherbak, Drouin, Gallagher, Byron, Danault, A.Shawn If we get Tavares, the new center moves down, Drouin moves to 2LW and Schernack down to 3LW
  12. He makes McCarron expendable and I hope he turns out better than DLR for a 4th line we role. That would allow us to trade DLR
  13. I keep getting my trades mixed up. I had DLR to sweeten the pot in addition to Chucky: swap two 3rd overall and the 1st rounders. If that is not sufficient add DLR I forget why I had Scherbak there
  14. I would certainly move down: Galcheynuk & Scherbak & 3rd overall for : D.Strome &and their 5th overall (for Kotkaniemi or Hughes or Veleno)
  15. If Plekanec came back to the Habs and the CH improved their center depth, , he would be a great 4th line center while we wait for a Kotkaniemi /Poehling / Veleno / Evans This may make DLR expendable
  16. It would make sense if the Coyotes are fed up of tanking just to fall down at the lottery draft : << This was the Coyotes’ sixth straight season in the lottery. They have selected, in chronological order, 12th, 12th, third, seventh, seventh (traded) and fifth the past six seasons. >> http://arizonasports.com/story/1514001/arizona-coyotes-land-5-pick-nhl-draft-lottery/ I would give them some players that are currently in the NHL and that have some upside potential and a 3rd overall in exchange for their best pick of the last few drafts and a young center: Galcheynuk & Scherbak & 3rd overall for : D.Strome &and their 5th overall (for Kotkaniemi or Hughes or Veleno) I think it would be good for them in the short term and good for us: Patches - D.Strome - Gally Hudon -Drouin - Lenkohnen Carr - Danault -Carr (Byron/Shaw are hurt, but they would fit here) Deslauriers - DLR - Rychel <<1LD-UFA>> - Weber Mete - Petry Alzner - Juulsen 1LD UFA: De Haan (NYI), I.Cole (CBJ), Hickey (NYI), If we get Tavares, and when we get healthy: Patches - Tavares - Gally Drouin -D.Strome -Hudon Lenkohnen - Danault - Shaw Deslauriers - DLR - Byron Hudon/Carr That's a very good lineup And in the pipeline: Kotkaniemi /Hughes/Veleno, Poehling, Brooks, Ikonen, Walford, Feury?, Evans, Lernout, ... that is an improved development list
  17. Make ir Galchenyuk and a 3rd paid D (Lernout/Valiev) and a 2nd in 2018 and some depth throw ins Or the same package with Patches instead. Getting 3rd overall and 5th overall would fix some of the CH holes but it would take a couple of years to develop those players
  18. I would keep Zadina but trade roster playes to teams who have sucked for a while and that would need almost-NHL-ready mid-6 players. For example: Scherbak , Valiev, Rychel or McCarron for : Arizona's 1st (Hughes/Veleno)
  19. But with 2nd/3rd we can package away a good prospect for a LD or 1C if needed
  20. Very happy Luckner seems to be turning our way
  21. I thought I was giving more than a late 1st round pick in DLR and Scherbak. Thanks for commenting on it Metallica, we do not agree but at least we can chat about it
  22. I guess I am striking out again as armchair GM I was looking at the lineup and the depth, and it seems to me we have too many 3rd liners and that even if L.Shaw and Froese may have outperformed McCarron/Rychel I would still hope (at least for the pre-season) to give them one last shot. They are 1st round picks after all. I think they may be able to play a slower pace game, but provide the toughness missing on the lineup. Very old school, but heck... It would give the CH some tradable forwards for some near-future relief.
  23. I know, but I am posting it because Inthink those three players could make it work since they are similar. They would be motivated to improve skating to stay in the NHL and for one year Inwould give them their 6min per game
