  1. You still have Norlinder and I believe most other D prospects are LDs Logjam gets a pause for maybe a couple of years until waiver exemptions come into play
  2. Salary cap room will be at a premium for the trade deadline
  3. Markov is the closest I can think of... Langdon?
  4. yes, quite a few never made it to the other side. A few Canadiens prospects, if I remember correctly. Others, like Xhekaj, kept on trucking and made it despite not playing much during COVID shutdowns
  5. yes, here is another view from the NHL.com website, sorted by Goal Differential . I did put a green check mark besides the teams with the highest draft lottery odds. I also highlighted MTL and FLA. BUF, DET, PHI and PIT have three games in hand more than FLA and may push FLA out of the race; I am hoping for them to abdicate and drop in standings. With the goalies hurt, it is more likely than before the game against the Habs. OTT may get hot with Norris back and Pinto down to the third line despite the unremarkable D. The wild card race between EDM, LAK, STL and CGY should keep them all above FLA. I doubt NSH and NYI will sink any lower. the draft is looking good for the Habs. Go, Habs Go!
  6. I wasn’t sure but Friolet on RDS confirmed after the game that it was the first time MSL has pulled a goalie in a game. Goalies have won 6 to 10 games this season; which may explain the reluctance to pull a goalie. It was good to see Primeau play a little bit
  7. Good summary: http://www.habsworld.net/2023/01/habs-lose-in-fight-night-at-the-bell-centre/ Montembeault played well in the first after the hit to the head to Eric Staal by Matheson, the game went back in time to the late 80s Ylonen is more soft than Drouin 😲
  8. it is part of the learning process. MSL in the post game said he is happy with the way they played the 3rd that he liked the team was not thinking of TOR on Saturday but that they “finished the game” I will believe him at face value
  9. agreed, but I liked to see that the Habs défense men are able to go into traffic and to play in a chippy game. I liked seeing Anderson play physical, he looked much more alive the two too many men and the coaching challenge broke the Habs back. Without Evans, Armia and Guhle, it was a better of time before the Habs crumbled on the PK I am happy for thé draft
  10. Even before the fight , Pezzetta was Having a decent game. I hope no one gets hurt from the trade chips
  11. yes. For that reason, I think they may "sell" or shed a handful of contracts at the deadline to better align for next year's run. I feel like their club is not well constructed to get to the playoffs or to win a few series
  12. same here. I think the Habs made a good pick when they selected Slafkovsky. I like ht ekid for what he brings
  13. I hope they don't win one for the coach (he was so funny when he laughed at the refs, and said that it was something between him and the refs why they didn't get calls their way)
  14. I agree, my expectation is to have two draft picks in the top 10 to 6 range Go, Habs Go!
  15. I have voiced my concern in developing MSL's coaching skills by handing him the task of developing the (arguably) 1st overall pick. It is not fair for MSL, the NHL coaching staff and Slaf. I think that Slaf will be a good top-6 winger, but I do not see a Jumbo-Joe type of talent in him. He is not close to the physical play of a Brady Tckachuk for example and he has not shown the finesse of a 30+ goal scorer. (fingers crossed, pray to god, he turns out great)
  16. Anthony Marcotte wouldn't be surprised if the Habs pickup from the waiver wire. I doubt it, but here is his tweet fyi
  17. I usually do not ignore people on this forum neither, right now it is just one person and I tried over multiple treads and for weeks and weeks to try to find a middle ground. I also try to reply to criticism and to won my errors. but I am not perfect
  18. not much, really. handling of AHL and development. Hughes did provide more clarity today on how they view it. He is taking the view as a former player agent, where he would tell his former clients - for example- that they may need to further develop their skating and then work on a plan. It brings a lot more clarity to me in how I was understanding them wrong. Seems like Hughes views the organization as a flat field where he assigns players to develop where the resources are: Slaf with the NHL was the example he used. He also views NHL players in a similar view, where he sees them as work in progress. I have been trying to understand from Gorton's historical view. going back to what he did before. I do not agree on how their view is being implemented. IMHO, I would have liked them to further expand the resources and roster in Laval and to use it as a stepping stone for Minor league prospect that have recently graduated to the professional level. I find that there is a missing middle phase to their development approach. Hence my other posts on insulating and bottom of the barrel signings But I am willing to learn and to grow to like this new approach as long as it leads to a cup
