Its the natural flow of contending and rebuilding. When we are ready to compete we are going to sell future assets to win now. I think its more likely that Del Gaizo gets claimed than Trudeau. He's played 55 NHL games, including 46 last season. Guys like Trudeau, 4th rounders or later, with 0 NHL games, dozens clear waivers every year in training camp. I wouldn't worry at all about him.

We traded two 1st rounders in a weak draft plus a 4th line winger, for a stud defenceman who is just 21 years old. If we were trading for 35 year olds, there might be a point here, but we are getting young assets who will be long term pieces of the club if they work out. Isn't that the goal of draftees, to find a long term piece if they work out. And draft picks are not guaranteed to work, while Dobson and Bolduc are already NHL proven. Its an insane thing to be concerned about in these deals. Its the family guy meme.... the boat or the mystery box... those draft picks could be anything, they could even be a young stud 25 minute a game D-man and a young 2nd line scoring winger with good defensive skill....

Hes disappeared some.plauoffs in his career. Showed up this year 7 points in 8 games. But most years were bad. 21 points in 45 playoff games.
