GDT Tampa Bay vs Montreal, 7:00 PM, Jan. 7

The league has to send a message on the Marchand hit. -
If you think the dogs are thin now, you should have seen them during that long losing streak when there was no Palushaj, Leblanc, Engqvist, St.Denis, and Dumont.

They don't want players kicking at pucks in goal mouth scrums. Its a safety issue and there could be a lot of scary incidents with people getting cut. -
Amazingly, Delmas is playing for Wheeling tonight. With tomorrow's game a 3:00 start, don't know what the thinking here is.

Lars Eller's continued development; the signing of Erik Cole, and the arrival of Alexei Emelin. The only three bright spots in this godforsaken season. -

Except for that one chance of the post, this team looks horrid. So uh, Grigorenko? -

I'd like AK re-signed before the deadline, if not signed then traded. I agree with you on his value, but can't risk him walking for nothing. As for a Getzlaf sign and trade, he can't be given an extension before July 1, 2012... so any trade for him during the season is a risk as habfan29 points out. -
I would be all in on a bet that either Delmas is up, or Lawson is healthy tomorrow. My guess is the only reason this guy was there today was because Delmas couldn't make it in enough time.

Bulldogs win 4-1 3rd period started out 2-1 for the Dogs, and they held the Marlies to a mere 2 shots in the period. Palushaj 1g 1a Engqvist 1g 1a Fitzgerald 1g 1a Wilsie 1g Lefebvre, Stafford, Wahl with 1a each. Mayer 19 saves on 20 shots Three Stars: 1) Palushaj 2) Mayer 3) Hamilton

Agreed, Lucic didn't leave the bench.... not in the traditional way which is an automatic 10 gamer. Marchand deserves something.... 3 time repeat offender too... suspended near the end of last season, fined this season.

Willsie with 2 goals in 2 games.... gives him 5 on the season. If he starts scoring the Dogs look a lot better as a team. Disappointing from him so far, the Dogs thought they were getting a 30 goal guy, replacement for Dawes.

NHLPA fires first shot in the coming CBA war.
Commandant replied to Commandant's topic in Habs & Hockey Talk
I wonder if the NHLPA is looking at the realignment and saying, hmmm... looks like a good time for a 32 team league maybe not tomorrow but at some point during the next CBA (ie a 6 or 7 year deal). The PA will want two things 1) any "relocation fee" that the NHL charges for the Coyotes or any other team to be included in Hockey Related Revenue (and thus the calculation of the cap) 2) and expansion fees to be included in HRR The league will be adamantly oppose these being HRR That very well could be a holdup issue here. -

It sounds great, but if that is our 2012 first rounder it has a legit chance to be a lottery pick, and Getzlaf can be a UFA in one year and a half. How would you feel about handing Anaheim that high a draft pick and watching Getzlaf walk as a UFA after playing less than 1.5 seasons for the Habs? -
DiPronio is the goalie coach of the Jr. C Glanbrook Rangers. Probably a short term emergency signing and Delmas on his way for tomorrow.
-
he got injured late last night, and afternoon game today... would Delmas even have time to get there? I remember the wolf pack signing a senior A goalie from Brantford last year to be backup for a game at copps. Such is possible too, if lawson can't go Lets hope he's okay though.
-
I haven't heard anything today... he left in the third period last night.
-
He left the game half way through the third period when Troy Bodie ran him. Bodie was given a match penalty, so it must have been a pretty dirty hit.
-
Emelin skating with the full cage too. I don't think Cammalleri has been 100% since before the 2nd game of the season. People have criticized him a lot, but his skating has never looked right to me... its been laboured all year.
-
Mayers is better than last year, but he still puts up stinkers. I agree I'd rather have Delmas in Hamilton. However i think the organization's thinking is that Delmas plays more as the starter in Wheeling than he would as the backup in Hamilton.... at least thats what I hope it is, because I really can't see how anyone can evaluate Mayer as the better goalie.
