digital cable, shouldnt you get all of the snet stations? That is definitely poor though, this is playoff baseball from a network that calls itself the home of baseball...not to mention that it is the marquee series of the first round. In their defense that is an NHL issue and not an Snet issue. Snet only has regional broadcasting rights for those games, and aren't allowed to broadcast them across Canada. I think the primary reason is to protect NHL Centre Ice but I'm not sure. I'm wondering what sunday is going to look like for baseball fans though. Snet is broadcasting the NFL on Sunday at 4 on all networks.

I'm not sure where you are saying I am wrong, maybe my statement that the Sox are the Yankees? I will concede that it clearly isn't exact, but like you said, is there a big different between spending 200 million or "only" spending 130 million? Many Sox fans still see themselves as the good guys in this whole thing and it just doesn't add up. For the record, I don't feel this way as a Jays fan. The Jays have spent their money on poor investments and are simply a mediocre to poor organization right now. Regardless of a payroll advantage, the Sox would be a better team. I say this as a former Expos fan. I see teams like the Rockies, Indians, Twins who have no money to spend, build good teams and are forced to trade away their assets after maybe 1 or 2 years of success. This offseason is going to be another trying time for me as a fan of MLB. Sabathia will probably go to one of the Yankees, Sox or Mets. The Rockies will probably have to deal Matt Holliday and it just goes on. C'est la vie. Guess I'll root for the Rays and Brewers? The only teams who spent less than 98 million this year.

Some good points, didnt meant to be actually critical of who you cheer for, I just don't see a big difference between sox fans and habs fans. The bolded part is probably my biggest issue. A lot of Sox fans seem to think that they are the little guys, fighting the evil empire that is the New York Yankees. The newsflash is that the Sox ARE the Yankees, and the nice young talent that the Sox have right now won't change my opinion on that. When the Yanks had Jeter, Posada, Mo, Pettite, Williams leading them to a championship everyone still complained about the payroll. Having said all this...GO ANGELS (who are clearly no better, but this is the MLB and I gotta root for someone...will they ever get their act together?)

Im giving Layton the victory on that one, seemed to display the most confidence and really did a good job of attacking Harper will still putting forth his own policies. Sorry I just can't fathom how Dice-K ended up with an ERA below 3 and his terrible K to walk ratio...I don't think anyone has pulled that off since Randy Johnson and Dice K is no Big Unit... I've been calling for him to blowup all year though so maybe im just way off.

Simple plan sucks, but the part of the song that they are allegedly using as the goal song works well. I was hoping they would go for either the early 2000s one that everyone loves, or the classic Les Canadiens Sont La for the 100th season. One of the best parts of playing NHL 94 is hearing that song after a beauty Muller breakaway.

Bob McCowan is sweet, but thats Fan 590, not an snet personality really. Snet can only dream of having Chris Cuthbert on the roster.

Goes way beyond just those two. As mentioned before, Martine Gaillard is probably the only one of their personalities that I respect, just sucks she got strapped with a horrible supporting cast. Just goes on and on Does anyone ever enjoy/care what Nick Kypreos has to say? Jamie Campbell is the worst mlb announcer i've ever heard. Even without the horrible personalities that occupy the network, they would still be terrible thanks to mistakes like the one i mentioned last night. I also recall watching connected and them repeatedly promising to go to the 9th inning of a potential no-hitter (think it was Gavin Floyd). Instead of going to it, they showed a few more highlights, then said they would have it on the other side of the break. After the break they flip to it as if it is live, all the while the failed no-no had ended 5 minutes ago.

Sorry but I felt the need to rant right now. I sat down at 8 to watch the ceremonies for the final game at Yankee Stadium. At 8 oclock Sportsnet is showing a preview for the 2008 Ryder Cup...an event that ended today. At around 10 after 8 they decide to switch to the ESPN coverage of the game and lo and behold, Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford et al have already been introduced. This is not an isolated incident. The lack of professionalism involved with this channel blows my mind on a daily basis. If they didnt have the rights to so many baseball games I wouldn't ever have to tune in. I just cant fathom how a network can be this bad. If I had time I would go on. end rant.

I did the same...hard to bench Turner and Bush with the matchups they had though... Vikes season completely turned on that Winfield fumble recovery...without that we might be looking at 0-3 and the end of the line. Go Gus!

Yeah I dont like having games on there because of their significance. I want exciting games only WITH significance. Our history is rich enough to do that. If they want a game from 2002 and Koivu's comeback from cancer, go with Game 3 of the Bruins series, down 3-1 heading into the third, A couple of quick goals to tie it at 3 and then Koivu with a beauty to give us the lead.
