  1. Back in the 70's and 80's it was more Montreal on CBC. Toronto got the coverage because they became a strong team in the late 90's and recently. The big reason is obvious. $$$ for the poor CBC. They'll take it and we habs fans suffer. It'll be interesting to see if Montreal gets more coverage soon. After all, the tide is truly turning and this is the territory where Leaf fans won't wish to admit or discuss. It's our time now. Let's see if the CBC can figure that out! :hlogo: :king:
  2. I know. I know. Why am I recycling last nights thread when there's a Pittsburgh one? Sorry but, I want to expand on what I said... If the Habs beat the Pens and the Isles all they have to worry about in the 10 games remaining is holding .500 hockey Based on prior history Montreal should win both games. We have to keep this streak alive. The magic number (based on 91 points in seasons past) right now is .584. The numbers are probably pretty reliable. It's possible it could be 92 or 93 points. If that's the case, a 91 point measure is the best number possible to project the cut off. Montreal cannot afford a loss yet. They've got to keep this going but their pattern indicates they should go on a 4 game winning streak with the T.O. games being the 1st 2 in that set. History says they should win! :hlogo:
  3. That deserves lorielle! http://www.loreille.com/special3.html GO HABS GO - ALL HAIL KYLE :hlogo: IP :hlogo: URA :king:
  4. ODE TO LEAF FANS SONG: Buds can't win the prize, I have to watch the Habs win another one, All my dreams, pass before my eyes, My team's a tragedy, Smelling the wind, leaves are a fart smell in the wind. This team sucks, rearrange leafs the anagram makes them fleas, All we do, is a waste of time, though we refuse to see, Dust in the wind, Leefs are just dust in the wind. Don't hang on, nothing lasts forever & the blue & white die, It's all so gay, and all their money won't another Cup buy. Dust in the wind, Leefs are just dust in the wind, Dust in the wind, this year is dust in the wind. Every year is just dust in the wind
  5. Hey kaos, you know as well as I that the CANADIENS generally come off the All Star break red hot. This year the break was the Olympic break. It's pretty well the same as any other year in that there's typically 25 games to go, or close to it. Now, they tend to win 6 straight and then drop 2 or 3 and then go on another 4, 5 or 6 streak again. I hope this pattern continues. Based on these "patterns" they should be on another streak...Cross em fingers. GO :hlogo: GO PS. Hence why I was practically devastated they dropped that game to the Isles.
  6. Everyone in the house, before you go criticizing smon for saying we can beat the Sens, make no mistake. I AGREE! :hlogo: Ottawa won't win the cup. You heard it here!
  7. These 2 guys needs monikers: Akosty and Skosty? Hmmm? Any suggestions? If Sergei is eligible to go to the AHL I say GREAT! :king: :hlogo:
  8. ...And LeClair killed LA. I wouldn't know how to react if I met LeClair. Shake his hand for his habs days or punch him for the Philly days
  9. Who knows? Maybe Stall or Alfie break their ankle or something. The '93 cup was a fluke by many analysts accounts (they can kiss my ___...it wasn't a fluke!) but a "fluke" could happen any year in the NHL. You never know. I say, "ROLL THE BONES!"
  10. Aebischer will improve. Melanson will work out the kinks with him. Hopefully he can find a consistant reliable form - soon! Olay Olay Olay Olay Rivet Olay Olay Olay Olay Souray Olay Olay Olay Olay HUET! Hip Hip Rivet. Hip Hip Souray. Hip Hip HUET.
  11. I wonder how BTH will respond to this thread.
  12. Big win. Time to focus on Saturday. After Saturday it's the Isles and the Pens. We are in a good position if we can get our revenge against them. 9 games remaining at home. 4 on the road. Winning on Saturday is a must! Good game. Toronto looked lost. Huet did well. Me so happy. :hlogo:
  13. Tellqvist Can only stay hot for so long. It's time for him to fall. We have that going for us. Even younger goalies in this brutal schedule need a break from time to time. People are forgetting one thing about Saku - HE'S A WARRIOR! Also, he seems to get pumped for the rivalry. MARK MY WORDS! Saku will be key! Go HABS Go :hlogo:
  14. IMO: Koivu and Kovalev are 2 world class players who can also boast to be seasoned veterans. It doesn't matter who the GM is. They'd likely all agree that up front, and at their current age, they are a formidable nucleus to build around. Montreal also has the rookies. They'll continue developing and I suspect we might have an at least one excellent sophmore out of the 3 next year. Look at Stall. After all, he's not a rookie. I'm not saying our rookies will become Stall but they will improve. Insert Chipchura, Kostitsyn and (cross fingers) Latendresse. Montreal will also keep drafting under the watchful eye of Trevor Timmons, Andre Savard, Pierre Gauthier and of course Gainey. And Montreal is not going to win in a while? Montreal has I estimate 9.5 million to spend under the cap. That'll probably be willing to spend 4 to 6 of that to stay under cap and have wiggle room. They'll be fine and Koivu and Kovalev represent the starting point. PS. We need to draft a D GO HABS GO :hlogo:
  15. Agreed, but I would give an exception to the rooks. Sure it's important for them to step up but it is more the responsibility of the vets to deliver. This in no way means that the rooks should get a free pass. But it's the vets who have to deliver. They've been around the block. Go Habs
  16. Can I hop back on the bandwagon now? Don't mind me but I'm not happy. Not too many of us are at thre moment. There is only one hope. The Habs tend to snap right out of their slump and catch fire. It's their pattern to win 6 and lose 2 or 3, and then win 5 straight down the stretch. Unfortunately, the Leafs are on fire right now too. Chipchura is in Hamilton on a tryout but isn't signed so there is no solution there. The only player available who is worth calling up is Kostitsyn. We need goals! Besides, the Bulldogs are not going to qualify. I feel for Hamilton fans but the good news is some new young gems are coming next season. Let's hope that they can catch fire. I hope someone tells the players they are HOME :hlogo: There's lore that the H in the CH meant Home for the Forum. Somebody probably just made it up and it caught on. HOME :hlogo: HABITANT
  17. You're kidding - right? I must have missed the fact that Markov was out last night. I thought I was depressed before. Now, matters are worse. Great. We are a dismal .250 in games without him.
  18. Yeah, the guy deserves the key to the city becasue without him there would truly be no chance. I'm still feeling sombre and depressed.
