  1. Fair enough, opinion + evidence is better than opinion alone
  2. I really wish we traded a 2nd and 3rd for Gusev and signed him at 4.5 aav for 2. That’s a gamble I’d love to have taken.
  3. The 25th and 27th teams are closer to the cup than the 14th will EVER be
  4. I’m glad I’m not as pessimistic and sour as you. That would be rough.
  5. Price and Weber have won gold on international level, and had some success over long careers. I just think they’re better vets for teaching purposes
  6. My simple response is veterans are necessary for development. Edmonton is the prime example of why you can’t go pure young talent. Price and Weber are prime players to teach KK Domi, Caufeild, Poehling, Suzuki, Drouin, Lehkonen... our youth list goes on. They need to learn from the vets
  7. About two years ago, or post-subban trade, I was all for firing Bergevin. I mean I had zero desire to hold onto him. That, then the Alzner signing, a teeeerrrible terrible prospect pool, and the constant need to sign CHaracter guys who couldn’t skate. I really didn’t like MB. Fast forward two years. The sting of the Subban trade has lessened, and it doesn’t seem as lopsided. He’s sent Alzner to the minors, the prospect pool is the best since pacioretty subban price and McDonaugh (and deeper) he seems to realize this league requires great skaters - MB has turned a page, and so have I. Im not saying I no longer criticize him, but I’m saying I recognize what he’s done recently, and if you ask me It’s a very good job. If the team regresses, I’ll change my mind, but right now I like the direction, so right now I like MB.
  8. I tend to think MB had some failed years, but my gut feeling is that he has learned and turned a page. He’s a pretty young GM and had to learn from those mistakes. Since resetting I feel he could be pretty good moving forward. Also if it makes you feel any better I disagree with people downvoting you if it’s simply over a difference of opinion. I definitely didn’t see anything worth a downvote myself, which I usually reserve for unwarranted snarkiness hahaha
  9. I don’t think it’s unrealistic to think Poehling, Suzuki Caufeild and Romanov will be impact players. That doesn’t mean stars, but members of a great team
  10. Sure, he isn’t making things up, but it’s overboard how much he undervalues the fact that the habs now have a good prospect pool. In the same breath he talks about Timmins being, I think he said an “abysmal” scout. Timmins one struggle was first round draft picks, but I really have to say it feels like he’s turning a page on first rounders.
  11. https://montrealgazette.com/sports/hockey/nhl/hockey-inside-out/what-the-puck-just-how-great-is-the-canadiens-prospects-pool Anyone else think this is a stupidly negative article?
  12. I’ve been a huge fan of Hudon for years, if you go back maybe 3-4 pages you’ll see me pump his tires lol. I also suggested using him to acquire JP in the same post
  13. Well he is the best trade piece for both having value and me not caring much if he’s gone hahah
  14. I’m definitely game to do Drouin + Juulsen + prospects and picks
  15. That’s what I figured. Who goes back from our forward group?
  16. Winnipeg - Laine Montreal - Juulsen, Ylonen, 2020 1st, 2020 2nd Thoughts?
  17. Or, Aho was quite convinced Carolina would match, this he would stay there AND get his contract. If not, he was prepared to make the move to MTL
  18. Nhler for sure, nearly had 30 points last year. He’s also on a one way contract so he won’t be back and forth between Laval and MTL. He’ll be with the Habs
  19. Doesn’t seem like a terrible signing in itself, but center is looking crowded is it not? Are more moves coming?
  20. So Montreal still has cap space. Do we think this is it?
  21. I agree though, wildly underwhelming.
  22. To be fair this isn’t one tenth as bad as the Alzner signing haha.
  23. Personally I don’t blink at that with mtls cap
