Well said dude. I often get annoyed at all the bi-polar blasting going on in these boards and Hfboards. It gets to be as tiring as Ek's trade rumors. Thread after thread about the same a$$ crap. When I saw the title of this thread I thought, man, I need to stop coming here, it never ends. The truth is I enjoy our discussions on Habsworld. I like this team. I'm not questioning anything. I know they are good and can't wait to see them put it together. It may not be like the old years but that is impossible now with the salary cap, media, INTERNET, salary cap, oh I already said that. It's about family. I think that is being slowly built in the Habs dressing room. It sucks that Montreal might discourage UFA players from coming here considering all our UFA's, well, so be it. Gainey will find a way to keep the real boys here and the riff raff out with endless Plan C's. Koivu is a leader. To question it is absurd considering three former captains run this team and wouldn't even think about taking it away from him. That says more to me then anybody wishing to start a thread about it here. I agree with you that he needs support. Kovy is such an introvert we've come to find, but he can and should lead on the ice. Higgins could be our John Leclair in this years play-offs, someone should let him know he's got the goods. Remember....Leclair danced with potential his whole time on this team and never really made a mark until 93 and then blossomed as a Flyer. Laraque could be Gino Odjick, even if he sits on the bench all night, but the team plays better because he is there. Tanguay could be Damphouse, Big boob could be the Denis Savard, Komi can be Serge and the Hammer can be Lapointe while The Schnide can be well, The Schnide. It's all going in a good direction.....I'm positive about that. I think Gainey feels the same way and that's why he's not signing anyone. It's do or die for this bunch and I think they are all starting to realize how much that means RIGHT NOW. Desperato!!!! All season long prior to our slump the press was saying how we haven't reached our potential yet, and now they are scratching their heads calling us over-rated. I still believe we have not shown our true colors. It's coming........unfortunately slower then we would like but this team can take out Boston and San Jose when they are on they're game. Crazy. Reading this article on TSN makes you wonder. All four teams that opened the season in Europe have fired their coaches this season. I wonder if all that traveling at the start of the year just fried them out. I mean, if you never really recover from the jet lag and then throw yourself into the regular season with no rest becomes too much by January. Or maybe it was something in the water bottles. Weird. I'm not jumping up and down,I'm just saying it wouldn't surprise me if Gainey resigns him because he will be Plan C and the best player available to us this summer. It wouldn't be any different then all summers since the lock-out. Once again our August threads will be based on " I wonder which Kovy will show up this year" Nobody wants to play in Montreal so we will once again be signing guys left behind. Kovalev will be considered whether you like it or not.

A few days ago I wanted him traded. Now I love him. A year and a half ago, I wanted him traded, now I want him resigned. Man , Kovalev drives me crazy. If Gainey is the only one who can motivate this guy then he should intervene more often. Kovy loves Montreal that in itself is a reason to sign him, but I hope Gainey does a deal that is loaded with incentives. You know, base salary 2.5-3 million but can climb to 4.5. Not that any of it would help, this is a contract season for him and motivation has been a problem. I just can't watch the russian bear hibernate much anymore. With all that said, Gainey will overpay him next year and we'll have another two seasons of this crap to look forward to. YAY!

You guys always talk about how soft we are and you want to bench the CUBE Besides Komi(old Komi, hasn't really been the same since Lucic punched him out) The Cube is the only one that lays people out along the boards with crushing hits. Let's just say through texts and phone messages the cops find out The Boys got some coke for the all star game weekend, have been buying weed once a month, and a couple of times got hookers in the past year. Our team is very young, and Gainey says the Habs have watchdogs keeping them in line and programs, BUT, it's obviously not working. These kids living it up in Montreal can easily be steered in the wrong direction as we can see from everything going on. Why don't they have families to live with? Crosby lived or still lives with Mario. I heard that Gui Latendresse's dad picked him up after games or even still does now just to avoid having his son going for beers after games. They should have a program with families to adopt these kids when they sign a deal with the big team as a mandatory clause in the contract if they are under 21 or 22. I just can't figure out how the Hammer is involved. You would think he might give some guidance but then again I've seen Dion Phaneuff online smoking and drinking away so The Hammer might actually be a bad influence on his teammates if he has problems of his own we don't know about. These guys need parents, like Gainey said "they are barley out of highschool and just learning to reason" On another note. I was thinking about The Grabs and Sergei feud. I wonder if it's linked to the going ons of this little story in Montreal.
