  1. I notice that his 2 predecessors are in the running. if he were there that would mean 3 out 5 habs coaches
  2. How about it's time to move on. He made a mistake and an uncharacteristic one at that. There is no point in continually bringing up the past. He is a darn good hockey player and deseves the support of Habs fans. We really need to get Kostitsyn up with the big club. I'd love to see what he can do.
  3. Mr Kovalev, loves to show off and he has all the talent to do it. It's hard work that he doesn't like.
  4. The way they are playing I am pretty sure they don't have an offensive strategy. It's more like a lucky bounce hope and prayer strategy. Maybe Huet can keep us in the game long enough for one of us to actually score from the blue line. Since not too many of these guys knows where the net is.
  5. hey spiderman I love your projected lineup but maybe you should forward this to Carbo cause these days I think he still trying to decide the line up when they are playing the nation anthem.lol
  6. the point being to simply say that bringing up a goaltender is completely is ridiculous is in itself nonsense. It has been done lots of times. I don't happen to think that this is the solution except maybe to shake the team up. bring him up for a couple of games just to see what he can do. Sometimes the craziest ideas work. Or we could continue to lose and do nothing. Changing lines benching people screaming at them calling them out in the press has not worked to date. Maybe this team relies a little too heavily on Huet and needs to know that you have to support your goaltender not leave him hanging out to dry like has been done so often this year. Where is red light Racicot when you need him?
  7. everyone is talking about getting prospects etc. we have lots of prospects. we just don't bring them up. what does kosty have to do score a hat trick every game before they give him a chance. we have good young prospects but the trouble is our veteran core have lost interest. We need to replace them with good solid hardworking players who want to win. More like Begin with some offence. Lets take a look at hamilton for some call ups. This team definitely needs a shake up and getting rid of some the core would be a good start. Kovalev Koivu Samsonov Ryder are not getting it done. Someone else mentioned coaching well, we are on our 4th or 5th coach with this group and nobody has been able to motivate them for long. Except mabe for bob last year
  8. any one remember patrick roy. He came in unheralded and stole the job.
  9. So the league actually admitted it happened. 3 games is not enough but maybe if they were to discipline the referee who called a lousy 2 min penalty on a deliberate attempt to injure (which basically Emery admitted to) Maybe that would be enough. I am not sure what he wanted to fight Lapierre over..... he fell down? he was tripped? he was checked? Lapierre I mean not Emery. This incident just shows why the Habs and Habs fans believe that the refs are against us. We get 17 mins for Souray and Emery gets 2 mins. Maybe Gainey should be more like Burke or Quinn and scream bloody blue murder every time we get a penalty. We are getting SHAFTED by the league. Somebody start a petition or lets have a royal commission. OK thats a joke but so is the reffing in this mickey mouse league.
  10. Come no Sammy show us why you think you should be the "GO TO GUY" lord knows we need one. Ok Begin kick some butt and lets get these guys going. Saku get your head out of your a$$ and play like we all know you can. this game is tres important. GO HABS GO dammit.
  11. Bob has done a very good job with Les Canadiens. How quickly we forget how bad things had become. We had no hope of winning a cup in this century. Do things sometimes not work out as he has planned OF COURSE! Does he fix them and make them right? Yes!! emphatically YES! I believed that Jose would come back as good as ever he did not. Bob fixed it. As to the Audet fiasco look at his numbers when Bob signed him. It looked like a good signing. When it blew up did he fix it ? Yes! We were the dummy's there. And he fixed that one twice. Bob is a very honorable man who will support his people to the limit (check out why he left Dallas) he is a very smart hockey man (see THE CUPS) he believes in doing what is right without fanfare notice no leaks from the Habs when he makes deals we are taken by surprise. He believes in giving people the opportunity to succeed and he is not chintzy about paying them because he wants them to succeed and stay with the organization. Ask nieuendyk if he thinks dallas was better after Bob left. Would Carbo be here if not for Bob? I for one love the fact that we have some of the best and smartest and talented former Habs coaching and running this team. Tradition is a Habs thing, we are not like the leafs we appreciate and love the former stars who gave us such glory. I have been a fan of this team for 42 years I have seen a lot of good (mostly good ) and some bad (houle tremblay was a mistake) What we have now is a possibilty of a new Habs Dynasty. Quit with the negative stuff all the time a season or a dynasty is not won or lost on 1 player or game. Bob has never been a loser and he never will be. Nor will the Montreal Canadiens. Keep the faith and trust we are really fortunate to have this group leading us.
  12. I think there were some ego clashing going on here. Carbo and Bob are of the old school where you try hard keep your mouth shut and be happy you have a team that wants you. Maybe Sammy needed to be shown that his "star power" is not that great. If he wants to be the "go to guy" he will have to LEAD SCORE HIT and be a TEAM PLAYER. I truly hope that through this little tantrum by both sides that they will learn to play nice together. Give Sammy a shot to prove he can do it, he has the talent. Now is the time for Carbo to give him the line mates and the support so that he will excel like we all know he can. If he is successful then he will want to stay. Success covers a lot of problems.
  13. 1. Apparently we don't have any goal scorers which I thought is what we got him for. we have lots of playmakers. 2. see pt 1 3. He was also sucking at the time, and had ever since Thornton left. 4. sorry I stand corrected what I meant was a high first rounder with experience. just my thoughts
  14. Losing Sammy is not that big a deal, in looking at his stats, he was never a powerhouse on offense. He scored 29 goals twice. He has scored 176 in 585 games. I think he is overpaid, at about 2 mill he would be a good player to have. It appears to me that he was a problem in the room or Bob would not have dumped him so quickly and for nothing. I think Bob realizes now that signing him for 3.5 was a mistake and is correcting it. When Boston traded him (where he had his good years being fed by Thornton) they got 1 mediocre player 1 minor leaguer and a dubious prospect. Not what you would expect for a 2nd overall draft pick. Lets move on and get some talent that spark this club up. Its easy to complain making a real difference is what is valuable. Bob has never been a loser and he never will be.
  15. bruce the goof is the worst writer I have seen. Maybe he should check the standings and note that at this point his senators are not in the playoff race. montreal is a long way ahead of them.
  16. guys this is bullcrappy Samsonov has 4 pts in 8 games. That is not a go to guy. He needs a little kick in the pants, Begin and Murray will show him the work ethic necessary. He is an immense talent but he is not Gretzky yet, maybe he can be another ak27 but he needs to work harder and we all know he can. Let Carbo do his coaching, he wants effort and energy every shift. Letandresse is not ready for this yet,but it is probably not a permanent thing at this stage of this season. BE A LITTLE PATIENT both habs fans and Samsonov
  17. I agree we need all the defence depth we can get. It's a long season and we have already had some injury trouble.
  18. I think our d is coming along. They are not there yet but I can see this being a very good defensive club from a defenceman's point of view. Streit played against Calgary and I don't think he was guilty of the mistakes that some of the others made. When the cube comes back there are going to be some major decisions to be made as to who plays. We now have more depth than we have had in 10 years. This cannot be a bad thing.
  19. so how come Eric "where am I again?" Lindros is still playing? Oh maybe in his case they quit counting after it didn't matter anymore. (about 4 years ago) lol
  20. tough game to play with all the bs penalties being called. Good game by the habs but are the refs getting bonuses for the # of penalities?
  21. grat thread catclaw. A lot of good info. not to dis spiderman his are great as well but it is nice to have some variety once in a while. It's also great to have 2 good goalies so you change up on a reg basis. Abby may not like it but platooning may be a good answer. 41 games each?
  22. i love snatch and I don't mean the movie
  23. hamilton needs help on defence we need someone to call up in an EMERGENCY seems simple to me.
